I was stuck in the update loop on Android too. I cleared cache and then force stopped both Play Store and CoC. I then opened Play store and was able to update. Everyone relax, you're not missing anything yet, the servers are still on maintenance break. They say 15 minutes at this point.

You don't think we have tried this? I am simply under the assumption that there is a glitch they are working on for Android since I still can't open and play the game on my apple account.
I have the same issue on my android and right at the end of a war too!!!
I restarted my phone already but it still doesn't give the option to update, just uninstall and open :/
now a few minutes...
