Trophy award amounts are bogus

Hello everyone. My issue is as follows; I am currently a lvl 67 th7 in crystal 1 and i am going for masters league 3 for the 1k gem award. I find myself raiding almost nothing but th8s, but the trophy award rate doesn't seem fair at all. My average 100 % destruction trophy award for raiding someone 10 to 20 levels and a th higher than me is about 8. On the other side, everytime i get raided by some higher level and th, i seem to lose 20 to 30 trophies. My last defense, for example, i got 100 %ed by a lvl 97 th9 in my same league, and i lost 32 trophies! How is that fair at all. I have to raid four or five times just to keep even on trophies. Is anyone else having this issue?

A couple quick points. Trophy gains and losses are not based on the TH or XP level of players. They are based off the current trophy levels when the attack takes place. Also trophy calculations will be changing a bit with the coming update so I wouldn't put too much concern into the current trophy situation. Many things will be happening in a few days that could change what you are seeing as a TH7 around Crystal/Masters.

There will be different trophies values which you can find here near the bottom

Its because there are very few th8 available above you. Only th9 and above dominate master league

Lol no, I'm not. If anything, it is the other way around because people way higher level than me are getting free rides to masters off of me, while i dominate people a th higher then me for very little reward.

You are wrong. You cannot be raided and lose more than a few trophies by a person 3 or 4 leagues above you. If you attack them and win, you could get 60 trophies. If they attack you and lose, you get 60 trophies. Ofcourse the cup amounts may vary a bit, but not to the value you are stating.
You could not be crystal 3 and be raided by a masters guy to a huge loss of trophies. It just doesn't work that way.

I am C3 now and when I get hit by Master 2 guys I lose maybe 5 cups. If I was to affect the revenge, I could gain in the 50 cup range.
If you go lower than your trophy amount, you lose more in a fail. If you go higher than your trophy, you lose fewer in a fail.
There is a cap and I believe it is 60. I have both gained and lost 60 trophies on at least a few occasions.

The only thing, and this is a law of the game, the only thing that affects maximum total trophy win/loss is your current trophy level. Your TH level, their TH level nor their experience or number of objects on their base affects the total number of cups you can win or lose. THat is only determined by your current trophy count.
I recommend you go over to the Wiki and read up on trophies and leagues.

I am certainly not wrong on the trophy and league counts i have stated. I am looking at the replays and relaying the information, not speculating. I am crystal 1, not crystal 3. I understand now that trophy count alone effects trophy loss or gain, but that is pretty asinine if you ask me. That basically punishes lower th's trying to rise leagues, and makes it easy for higher th's. Player and TH level should play a factor.
