A level 3 clan castle, which is the max level for th 7, should be able to hold dark elixir because a th 7 can and will receive DE from wars but cannot hold it because a lvl 3 CC cannot hold dark elixir.

The war raid loot is not the same as the war reward loot. The raid loot is added to your loot total immediately following the raid. The war reward loot is added after war has ended. TH7 I dont recall having DE on the clan castle nor were they awarded de for the war win. They can still get the DE during the raid, just not as a war reward.

I have not been th 7 in a while either but my friend brought it to my attention. He has a war win bonus that includes 330 de but no de storage available in his cc which is maxed for th 7
This cant be. I just checked and the level 1 cc can hold 500 DE. The level 3 can hold 2500 de. your friend is mistaken. War has to end to get the loot, and the clan has to win to get the listed amount. Otherwise its about 20%.
But then again, in game the graphic isnt there on a cc lv2 but it can hold 1k de. Level 3 can still hold 2500 DE.
