    Idea: Ally/Friends & Messaging System

    Hello there!
I'm new to these forums, but not so new to the CoC itself.
I'm not maybe a very active player, but I do enjoy hopping on 2-3 times a day and build my way up the ranks.
What I've thought of recently is that although the chatting system itself is quite well made, the communication in the game is quite poor.
This made me think of two things that could make it better and more fun - Ally/Friend and Messaging System, as the title says!

    So, how would it work?
It'd be supposed to give people opportunity to add each others as Allies/Friends via menu in chat, both public and clan. One person would send an invitation, and the other one would have a choice of either accepting the request, or rejecting it.
If the player would accept it, then both players could see each other in the "Friends" tab. They could see when the other person is online, see their village, and also message them from there.

So, messaging system would be quite simple - You write a message with limited characters, and send it to your Ally/Friend. It shows in their Inbox, just like the Defense Messages, and Clan Mail. The person who would get the message would have an option to reply immediately just by tapping on the message.

In my opinion, that'd improve the overall communication in the game, and made it feel more fun, as you'd be able to plan things ahead, without having to wait for the other person to be online so you can chat to them via clan chat.

Would love to see some feedback on this, as it is my first suggestion!

I also understand that the development of the system could take some time and be problematic, but in the longer run, I think it's worth it!

Having a friend system would make people more vulnerable to spambots, and children could end up putting personal info in the wrong hands as a result of this. So, I don't think this will happen.

It only depends on the person either they want to add people as friends or not. So it's up to them if they'll add everyone they can, or choose the people they trust.

Your second argument about children is a bit irrelevant. Although I understand where does it come from, if people would want to get into someone's personal information, they wouldn't need a messaging system. They can do it through chat as well.

But also, they could make it an option to report someone, just like in chat.

Last time I checked, this idea was dismissed.

    By what reason?

For the really valid and convincing (sarcasm) reason of being abused I think.

Well then, why not try and make it look better?
It's just that the way you communicate in the game feels very poorly... You always have to be one at the same time as the other person, and you don't even know if they're reading chat.
I would really find it helpful for people who live far from each other, but still want to communicate through game.

Also, I know that the argument could be that they should use some communication software, but first of all, not all of them wants to, and second of all, wouldn't it be easier to just have one in game?
