How are you guys still lvl 6? My clan is halfway to lvl 8 with 93 war wins and way less members.
Something seems fishy.
You can still gain war XP even if you lose. I've seen lvl 3 clans with 0 wins.
I would assume your win/loss ratio is your problem there. I'd also suggest this thread as a good place to search for enlightenment on the topic as it's in the relevant sub forum for your question

My old clan lost most wars, wasn't active much and donations were very low. This clan, is very organized, powerfull and well run. The people are great players and from what I know about them, they are great people too. Also #100thwin was great. Overall amazing clan you should definitely join us and have an amazing time
