The point is, heavier armies net you less resources. Even if you got in 3 heavy attacks (doubtful with time bug now, or without boosting) you'll probably be coming out with 50k elix and break even or go backwards with de. (Depending on de troops used...and lets face it, we will use them more)
So 50k x 3 = 150k elix after three raids with less bonus (depending) and increased TH penalty. Then someone comes and wrecks you for 300k/300k 3k...hey you might come out with some gold but the other 2 are gonna be at best the same with your heavier army cost. Just my opinion and speculation
Hope we see more dead bases so we can afford de and elix upgrades

In this update there are three things that discourage sniping: two on defense, one on offense. On offense, the league bonus for sniping is minimal, so why bother if loot in th TH is low? On defense, you don't get a shield and you expose 20% of your resources (or more at lower TH levels).
My question, why throw 3 different measures at the sniping issue rather than 1 at a time? It seems like just taking away the shield is more than enough. It could have been the case that just putting 20% of loot in TH would have been enough. They have thrown basically everything they have at sniping at once. They could have turned up the heat on sniping over time and brought it down from 80% to 30% or some other number that makes everyone "happy"
Make no mistake on this- TH sniping will be killed dead. sniping is a huge part of the game and this is a huge change. My maxxed th10 is sniped about 98% of the time, so I will be forced to defend now. I am assuming i will only be hit by heavy raids from TH10/11s. Most will be successful and I will get a shield every time and lose 2-3 storages. I will raid enough to make it up. Hopefully there will be more fat TH9s to raid.
My mini account, a th9 will not be so lucky. It will be hammered and I will be forced to raid more to keep up or just abandon it
I continue to believe there should be a defensive bonus equal to some % of nexting costs for being skipped inserted into collectors. This would make bases skipped for lack of loot more attractive and provide a refund to those subject to heavy raiding.
Let me add to my comment that while the change is huge (given that 80% of raids are snipes), I find it hard to conclude anything other than TH sniping/putting TH outside walls is an exploit. If Supercell had a problem with this it should have been solved long ago. Why it happens 3 years later I will never know.
I know when I was a th5-6 two plus years ago I thought putting TH outside walls and sniping was dishonorable/not how the game was meant to be played. But after you get hammered so many times by higher level town halls you realize its just the dominant, winning strategy for the game.
I would love to hear from the developers why this is a problem NOW. It was just as big of a problem (1000/1000 building disappears your base) two years ago.
Again, not complaining about the removal of the exploit, just questioning the timing.

does that mean that TH11 might get close to nothing for attacking TH10s?
Still... The minimum league bonus should have been kept as is, and the additional bonus should have been piled on top of that, IMO. It still sucks that we'll be getting a lesser bonus for the same type of win that we get today. Not a fan of that being taken away, as I'm sure numerous people have complained about. Hopefully it will be bumped back up in a later update...
Someone in my clan told me godson's video had info about league bonuses being increased after the sneak peek was announced. Is this true?
