Thread: Do not implement these new Shield changes - or revert them immediately!

    Wrong? Interesting..

    One whole raid and you have just made up all that is lost.

    Three whole raids and your shield is gone.

    Two whole raids and you'll be getting attacked, yet again for what you just made in a matter of hours.


    I think you don't understand this concept. I hardly do either, however, there will be MUCH more loot in the economy.

    I attack you. I get every last drop of resources available. You get a 14 hour shield.

    You attack me, and get them back.

    I get a 12 hour shield.

    I attack someone else, and make it back, with 9 hours remaining.

    You attack for a profit, and have 11 hours remaining.

    Our shields run out, we get attacked for loot, story repeats.


    Do you see any chance to hoard loot in there?

    If there's no chance to hoard, and loot doesn't just "vanish" ((unlike troops)), then where does it go but to players?

    I agree with keeping the old system. Imagine this senario:

    A player attacks you using only 40% of their troops, and get 30% (or even more) damage to your base (getting some resources or such).

    You still end up losing trophies, they gain trophies and whatever loot they took, and you get no shield. Now here's the catch: More and more players do this to your base, let's say 10+. This means not only will your resources soon be drained, you will also have probably gone down an entire league level or more IN A DAY. Supercell even knows people want this system and they pretty much said that they don't care and want more battle in the game. Super cell, it's called clash of clans, not get attacked 20+ times in a day. Super cell you need to stop with the updates no body likes and start listening to your community! I will also probably quit if this new system is implemented.

    Your statement is invalid. You do realize that you don't get all of the resources a player has when you attack them right? If several players attack you to the point of emptiness, your loot is spread out among those players. That means if your wanting to get it back, you'll have to attack ALL of them. And what if they use that loot? And with what troops? Not only will you no longer have the elixer to train them due to being empty and being attacked so much, you also probably won't have the time if your not a hard core player that waits it out.

    You also say there will be much more loot in the economy. This is also incorrect as it will probably be even LESS than the normal amount due to it being moved between players so much, and players wanting to use them while they have the chance. Wars will also be majorly affected because players will be too busy defending their bases to be attacking in wars.

    Actually, it will vanish as players soon realize they'll have to use the resources while they have the chance. So yes, it goes to the players, but to several different players and into those players upgrades.

    A very effective way to earn money is to push trophies - by sniping town halls - and taking advantage of the win bonuses awarded by higher level leagues. This can be done every 5 minutes and doesnt require spending 90 minutes building a proper war attack army.

    A very solid way to get a shield - so that you can prepare for clan war - is to leave a th outside and let it get sniped easily.

    I can see by the decisions made by supercell in the past; the powers that be want to make it so that they encourage giant full powerhouse style army camps - that take ages to build... to promote players to use GEMS to speed up the process... because supercell - is a business - and wants to make money.


    This shield decision has nothing to do with improving game play - it is being implemented to improve the companies bottom line.

    Getting 1 star - and a shield - and a win with sniping the TH is a staple of the game play.

    You should not take this away from us.


    -What about those of us who use Super Queen walk? 4 healers - high level queen - we can kill 60% of a base using just those units... that is 20% or less of our army capacity -- so your telling us that we will not get a shield every time someone does that to us?

    This decision your making is NOT going to improve gameplay; I think it will hurt it significantly.
    Definitely... This will ruin clash. Already have started playing boom beach cuz of this. Though this the wrong forum for this thread. Should be in general. RIP Farming,DE,loot,etc etc

    This is also true. I have seen people get bases down to as much as 85% before the queen is finally taken out. Some players are even able to split it up between the queen and the king. As seen in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9Vk6LauS48 (although to be fair he did use other troops in the end, but he still got a whopping 75%)

    You can also get queen walked several times in a row which would take a TON of resources away. And the worst part is since hero's don't take long to heal, which might be good for the attacker, but terrible for the defender.

    I would be okay with this shield system if there wasn't the 50% army being needed and the shielded when you attack.

    Pretty much. Except supercell loses also. Fed up players, don't spend money on games their fed up with. (There's a few exceptions.)

    I also seem to be one of the few people who actually tested this sneak peek on their own server to see the result first hand..

    I for one welcome the decisions of our 'game overlords' (OK, maybe not overlords, but still..)

    Yes there is some takeaway, yes this will wreck your long held security blanket of mediocre gaming. But think of it this way, you are just as exposed as everyone else. More targets! More changes to get what you want! More opportunities to recover loot when you do get hit.

    This is part one of a well thought out two part overhaul. A much needed overhaul! I can finally play as intended, and not be bitter at those other people metagaming the system with farming bases. There was so much systemic metagaming, I had to using farming base just to shut up the dang attack notices, because I got 'punished' for not metagaming like the rest of the 'smart' players.

    I can't wait to see the second part of this update, to see the rest of the plan SC has to fix this stain on gameplay, and to help close in the holes you silly people are so scared about.

    We can have our revenge at more our time of choosing, than be afraid of being the few people standing up to only be shot back down for having sweet revenge. There are more places for lightning to strike now, plus we keep a part of our shield anyway (when applicable). Revenge system will not be a Clash of Clans inside joke anymore! (or at least not as much as before)

    Farming is not gone!

    I, for one, am still farming, because the shield wasn't my goal. It was to distract the attackers away from loot, and focus them on the snipe. Many people will still farm.
