Lvl 7 th just unlocked dragons. Need attack strategy please!

So I finally got some dragons and I can't figure out the best strategy to use them with. I was using 8 dragons and 5 giants but I'm not sure if that's the best option for me. More concerned on gaining resources than gaining trophies. Please help!!

Best strat is not to use them. They take too long and are too expensive for farming.

The exception is farming for DE. In this case what you do is fairly simple: make all dragons, lightning one AD and send in the dragons on the opposite side.

I would not recommend using unless you are trophy hunting and gone for like 3 hours from the game. If you want to bring 2 lightning or 3 lightning spells, 20-40 archers and the rest dragons. Giants and dragons do not work well together.

DE Hunting. Make 3 rage spells. Use all dragons with archers to fill in the spots. Use archers to pick off buildings on 1 side. Deploy all of your dragons on one side spread out a little. Use rage spells. Profit?!?!?!?

You should not use dragons until later on. When you first unlock them, they are expensive and not worth using. Just ask people in your clan to give you one so you can see . Their not as good as they seem.

I had success with combination of balloons and dragons. In the thread, there are suggestions that others have provided.

then spawn them and hopefully if path is cleared drop them

some people tend to use some minions to clear traps..

if farming though i wouldnt use them.

i get 2million-4million on elixer and coins.

This got me to 1900 trophies and my DE storage was overflowing

Have 4 maxed barracks with preferably lvl 2 dragons
1 Dark barracks - for minions - again lvl 2 is desirable

Make 6 dragons and 30-40 minions. Balloons are an option if you want to use rages

I recommend 3 lighting spells

Tactic - 3 lightning spells to a AD that is hard to get at

Deploy dragons in a L or line that leaves just enough space to avoid splash. Use a few minions, barb king or reinforcements to destroy any buildings that would cause your dragons to circle (they have the same AI as a barb) - not always necessary

Once dragons clear a path to an AD deploy minions in squads of 6-7 to take it out quick.

At this point at least 50% of the base should be up for the taking if you want success. So you need a few ADs within reach when you attack.

At this point minions can do two things. Either send them in squads to quickly take down archer towers, but avoid wizard towers like the plague. And remember to deploy a "scout" to prevent one red bomb from taking everything out. The other thing you could do is save the minions and deploy in mass once the dragons lay waste to the center of the base. This works well if the other 2 ADs left are covering the center from the far side. Their high damage and numbers make them difficult to take out quickly.


Avoid bases with archer towers that are green with spikes and gold bands. High level X-bows pointed upward. And if the AD are in one big barrel or 3 clustered barrels (lvl 6 and above). You can take one bases with Lvl 5 AD's if you can take them out quickly and they don't have high level archer towers backing them up.


If you queue up the dragons you can attack once every half hour for 1.5 hours. If you go for huge purses if can be an effective strategy for gold and DE and with the minions you can get the elixir to keep going
