Except surgical isn't the most efficient because you get the least bang for your buck on healing spells. Go surgical when you have double giant bombs to avoid, keep them grouped if they're single giant bombs you can heal through.. And very, VERY few TH8s have proper double giant bombs.Originally Posted by anonymous1992

Granted, it only worked because the giant bombs were outside as four giant bombs inside will be too much for three heal spells, but it just goes to show why grouping can be more powerful than surgical because your hogs don't actually die.
Like i said in another post directed to you, come check my war clan, and you will have a different outview in hog attacks, we don't have 185 wins and only 6 losses by surgical not being efficient..respond Tyler to give you the clan details ..you wont be dissapointed, you will see surgical work on any th 8 base style and take care of some low th 9s
I'm not doubting that it can work, it's just unnecessarily complicated for teaching people at TH8. Sure, you can come up with all these elaborate ways to three star TH7s, or you can just spam dragons from upwind of the sweeper and zap the far one and triple them every time. I know there are a lot of people in my clan that don't have the talent to pull off surgical but they can drop a group of hogs and keep them healed around the base and end up with 20 for clean up and get the triple with ease, learning to surgical is really just about ego and not utility at TH8.
FWIW, we haven't lost a war in like four months because we don't try to do too much. We come up with the simplest method to triple a base and execute it. Elite players can get cute and pull it off just for fun, but that's not how I teach my 8s until they're getting bored with how easy it is.
Complicated?? It's hard as f*ck., when i joined the clan i only did Asian wall deployment, and it took me like a week practicing in multiplayer to learn fast surgical on all defenses at the same time. I've got some clan mates who are better than me and can do surgical with multi finger at the same time all around the base, it is so freaking cool, I can't do it, well it works better on bigger screens like tablets.
I still do Asian wall on some raids but mostly surgical..
I dont do one or 2 finger drops o 2 defenses, because it is the lest efficient, Asian wall is more efficient, and surgical is just at the top..
This videos use giants to tank defenses, i dot recommend using giants at th 8 as they almost have the same Hp as hogs.
Guys if you don't want to use poison to kill dragloon, just use 3 wizzes and 4-5 barbs as distraction, once cc is killed place king in front to tank and start deploying your hogs

Agree on not using giants at TH8, only useful at TH9.
Efficient as the attack strategy more able to 3 star every time..i mean hog raids are the most effective th 8 war strategy, more than dragons and gowipe. And surgical is the most effective in all hog deployment styles.. What i meant to say is effective..or efficient i dont know both words I'm using rather similar, I wish i could share some videos on maxed anti-3 star bases that still get pummeled by surgical, even having well placed dgbs wont stop surgical for tearing up a base..
Well every war all th 8s get cleared in the first hours and in the first attacks, leaving the second attack to practice or try to 2 star a th 9
I'll agree with you that it's the best method for three starring bases with well placed double giant bombs, but it's not more efficient on bases where you can just heal through the bombs because it loses more hogs and under utilizes heal spells. Unlike you, I won't say one method is always more useful than the other, but you're using a much harder method which is only better on a small minority of bases.

lol true, but my point about your clan is I'm not disagreeing with you that it's very effective when I'm saying it's unnecessarily complicated except in those rare cases where the bases are actually good. The harder you make it on yourself the higher your odds of failure are.
