    Lightbulb Thoughts about the ranking and attack-system

    Hello everyone

    tl;dr bye. Dude I think it’s worth it. But first i have to apologize for my english, its not my native language and i hope its still understandible
    Introduction
    I want to discuss the league and trophy system in here. The reason is the fact, that this system is not working how it’s used to do. In the following I will describe what the idea of ranking is about, what the actual ranking is doing and what solution I got.
    Actual system
    At the moment our system is about ranking up by attacking other players which are around your league rank. Ranking down when u get attacked and lose or u fail ur attack urself. Everything could work so far. The problem I see in here is the town hall. People abuse the fact, that u can get a shield by placing the town hall outside. This will prevent the loss of resources and probably the loss of more trophies from an honest attack which could cost 2-times or 3-time the trophies.
    Furthermore the rank system is more like a hiding game. Depending on ur activity and defense level people try to find the trophy range where they r safest from getting wiped out. Other player try to find these guys who carry tons of resources mostly. Others try to get as high as possible in ranks by sniping town halls or getting 1 star with cheap but safe attacks just to climb up and earn the winning reward which is mainly abusing a system, 5 archers wim the Battle? So skilled.
    What’s to wrong at this? Let me explain, first of all, what are ranks normally made for. Ranks are made to give people opponents at their level to have the nicest experience in player vs player challenge. Good and high level players at the top, low level and not so experienced at the bottom. Everyone can have nice experiences in their range and no one feels like threated unfair.
    Do u feel like this is what clash does? I think not. Go to YouTube and see how people climb up to master or even higher as town hall 4. Likewise th10s are at bronze to be safe, or to feel safe, which causes more trouble than fairness (even if town hall 10s can attack down to 8, u know what I mean with that). U see these tons of appeals that town hall 7 is too weak, town hall 9s r 3-staring them too easy? Quite rightly when u use ur mind. In fact this system needs adjustments.
    Short exampme: Take a look the the clash con, u saw the maxed town hall 10 only 1 starring the town hall 9? Is this what a high level player does? No, this guy knows how to 1 or 2 star his opponents with solid gowipe attacks. This is the safest way to climp up the ladder by being active and getting tons of attacks out. And he might be good at it, i dont know. This ladder has nothing to do with skill or how do u explain that town hall in range from 4 to 10 are located in master or higher? Because they are even? Not at all. This is only an activity ranking, not a skilled one!
    Revenge
    I don’t go further into the problem with the revenge button but did u ever use it? I never could, no matter how often I tryed. When I leave the game without a shield it takes just a few seconds until I get attacked. How could someone match this short moment? It’s only been abused to push in trophies for lower town halls I think (youtube!)
    What I suggest
    To say it short- a complete restructuring- but let me explain. It will split into two types of attacking: farming and ranking. Why I do so? It’s the most common system and the fairest I think with some other nice advantages I will explain in the following.

    Climbing the rank is completely different now. If u search an opponent u cannot skip and u get ur match (this guy is similar in offensive, defense (like it’s in clan wars at the moment) and similar in trophies). u got like 1 or 2 minutes time to watch his base. After that u will get 1 minute to build ur army for that specific base. It will cost u nothing, no training time obviously, no resources and then u attack each other. The one with more stars/ percentage wins. (When it’s a tie (like both 100%, the 2nd base will be selected and the match will be repeated. After that it’s a tie.) by winning u gain trophies, by losing u lose them, tie and nothing will change. This is a way, common games handle the ladder just saying. U will get fair match ups cause it’s up to ur offensive, defense and trophies.
    If u upgrade ur base u will automatically get better opponents and ur skill will show, if u are still the same level as before with ur weaker base/troops or if other people can handle high level bases better than u do. Important is, that the rank will decay slowly after not attacking for 1 week or maybe 2. The reason is, maybe u r an overpowered town hall 8 attacker and u build up to town hall 9. U should not be able to bring ur old stats, because maybe u suck at 9.
    What are ranks good for?
    First of all, ur stats r shown in ur profile and this shows ur skill obviously, which is nice for getting members for ur clan. Secondary u get a small bonus when winning the matchup. Not as high as it is now, because u have no waiting time for ur troops and no costs as well. Let’s say like a third of what the reward is now.
    Farming
    Farming is similar to what it is now, but as it is with the ranks, u find people in range of ur offensive and defense. U will find more opponents and have less waiting time because no one can hide at any trophy range. For farming u can find people from bronze or legend when he is similar to u. When u farm, everything stays the time with the difference in shielding. U get a shield when 40%/90% (like now) is destroyed, unintentionally of the town hall. But u should keep ur town hall safe, because it keeps more resources now. Like 20% of the max. possible storage for each town hall level.
    U can see, farming is just for resource farming and that’s it. Ranking is for the ladder, improving skill, getting better for clan wars and just having fun without waiting times. The reason why ranking can be done continuously: when I got 30 min time to play, I go to coc, get 1 attack off and have waiting time. This game is more about waiting than playing. With the new attack and ranking system u can literally “play” instead of “stutter play” because pushing with gems is no option at this point when u got like 30min and then u still got to wait a long time depending on the troop u build. With barch u can attack continuously but this is not the skilled attack the game should be about at all, this is for farming. Furthermore this is a reason, why some guys got ♥♥♥♥. Peope can attack and train illegally. Now everyone can and its legal. At this system time is too short to use ♥♥♥♥. Now everyone has the chance to train and get better and even more important its fair now!

    Not 100% sure of what you're suggesting but the way that the trophy system now is fine. What you have suggested would decrease the incentive to progress and therefore less cash for sc.
