Am I using Gibarch wrong? (th9)

I've heard of people using it masters (assuming against max th9 - premie th10), and yet I can barely 2 star a premie th8 and rarely win against mid/max th8. I'm in crystal 2 trying to reach masters

    Army composition:

    16 giants (lvl 6)
    12 wallbreakers (lvl 5)
    40 barbs (lvl 6)
    40 archers (lvl 5)
    16 goblins (lvl 4)
(Sometimes) 4 hog riders (lvl 4)

I only bring one healing spell (lvl 4, being upgraded atm) because making 4 of those is too expensive

What I do is I 2-finger spam giants in a small area on one side of the base, then drop 2 or 4 wallbreakers, then 2-finger spam barbs, archers, king, queen, goblins, hog riders (all in that order)

The problem is, my giants get destroyed by wizard towers, cannons, and king (even a lvl 1 king)

You do know that GiBarch is a farming army composition, yeah? Well, its more for those who farm anyways especially when goblins are involved. (It can be used to trophy push but its not used that often for pushing trophies)

Mate, if you dont bring full spells, then whats the point? You're not going to get anywhere with just 1 heal spell.

The more spread out your giants are, the faster the attack will end. You need to go watch some YouTube videos or whatever of people using GiBarch properly, so then you can learn what to do in future attacks.

Again, use 4 heal spells and you'll survive.

I used a very similar GIBARCH combination as you (2 more giants)

my rule was i never attacked a th9 with X-bows, you can usually guarantee that the Wiz Towers arent that high either if they dont have X-Bows

Dont spread out the giants, they have the most power in clumps, but definitely use a heal spell or two

Your deploy sounds off. Honestly when I GiBarch and I GiBarch a fair amount. Always drop a troop to check CC.
Don't 2 finger the Giants. You want them in a single group. Use the heals when under WT or multiple mortar fire. Make sure your archers stay with the giants.

I go for 1 star + DE storage + at least 3 of the other storages. If I can get the TH for 2 stars great if not who cares. Having 1 or 2 heroes available makes 2 starring a lot easier.

I don't really go for higher TH9s unless it is an easy TH to get and they have good collector loot. Then I'm going for TH 1 star plus collectors/drills with Barch.

When I do go for stronger TH9s I add 4-8 Wiz to my army depending on how long I want to wait to cook an army.

I myself do not like goblins but others seem to like them.

Best way to get to masters is a troll base. Trust me I went from 1400 - 2600 in a couple days 👍

This might be just me but

I find barbs in gibarch kind of wasted
GiArch or GiantsArchsGoblins (how's this called?) appeals more to me. Of course wallbreakers in the mix too

About your issue, I agree with above posters especially Klavious

    Yes, you are.

Gibarch (And most giant based armies for that matter) are farming strategies designed to core-dive bases that are either rushed, below your town hall level or both. If you want to consistently 2 star stronger bases some armies that almost guarantee a win are mass dragons and gowipe, provided you use spells and deploy properly. You can try riskier armies like hogs and get 3 stars but in regular multiplayer battles where you don't have time to plan it's not that reliable.
We told one of our newer members to lightning the cc....He dropped a lightning spell on the actual cc - no luring the troops or anything. Guess we should have been more specific...
