Need help attacking TH8!

If I use hogs and wizards I sometimes get 3 but tend to get raped by big bombs and lose hogs fast, if I use golems, Wizards, and pekkas I seem to only ever get 2 stars, I need help in general for attacking TH8's!

Make sure you're taking 40 hogs (6 wizards and an archer for heal, wizards cannot be out of the CC), and learn to heal better and preheal the big bomb spots.

Use 2 lightning and an earthquake to take out an air defense. Your third spell should be a rage. Take 11 drags or ten drags and 5 loons. Practice your funneling.

well if you just spam your drags in one place and you don't know how to funnel. maybe

Your attack will depend on the base. Some base are easy hog while others are easy dragons. You really need to decide based on the what you are attacking. I would say look at the base and then decide what to attack. Also looking at some war attack replays help as you will be able to notice the small differences in deployment or spell selection that makes a massive difference. There are 50+ 3 star attacks videos on Th8 in the link in my signature if you are interested to have a look.

We aren't scrubs, the clan that I lead is on a 22 (23? I forget) war win streak with TH8s and TH9s and I can't remember the last time we failed to take out a TH8. We use zapquake as early TH8s before we get our hogs to level 4 (which is our first priority), and sure now you can take out weaker bases with 6/6/6 ADs, but against stronger, well designed bases against 6/6/6 ADs hogs are generally by far the stronger three star strategy.
