    Splash Towers

Don't put your splash towers so close together. A well placed lighting strike could neuter your north side to a simple archer/giant attack

Try to place walls exposed to WB attacks 2 spaces away from joints. This way the wb has to break each individual compartment

Yeah, I'm working on upgrading those wizard towers to level 6, they're level 4 at the moment. I'll be sure to max out those defences. And yes, I rushed to Town Hall 8, but that was before I knew about those f*cking loot penalties (Nudge nudge, supercell). I still get good raids, it just takes a bit more searching, and I can often find a 200k raid (attacking a gemmer or bad layout). I have all level 4 troops including wizards (which I love) and a 165 troops space.
At the moment I'm putting lots of my gold into wall upgrades, and then I'll focus on wizard towers and mortars.
I don't use spells due to their training time, but I'll start to include them into my average raid, and upgrade the factory.

    Thanks for all the replies!

very, but by upgrading walls it just plain looks better. after all, walls are the first thing that pops to my eyes when i see a base, naturally

Use the gold walls dotted around yours base to make little funnelling areas around your southern elixir collecters
