I just have one simple idea to improve village edit mode. Whenever I start making a base I mange to end up making it slightly too far to one side and I have to go through all of the buildings and walls trying to make it go over one space. This is why I think a select everything mode so you could just select everything that has been placed and move it whever you need to.
