If I actually tried to do that. I was very clear. The other nice thing about actually visiting a clan is that you can see the bases, war log, war attacks, and other factors that aid in the decision making. I didn't try to recruit any players. All I did was ask if she was interested in merging. Pretty simple.
Let's say you had a recruitment thread.... and let's say my clan was lvl7 with a flawless war record and yours was a lvl3 with an average record. Would you be cool with me coming into your clan only to talk about merging with mine?
That's passive aggressive recruiting in my book.
There is nothing wrong with talking about it. There are benefits for both sides. There is a huge difference between a L7 and L3 clan.
After reading these posts here, I think at worst this was a minor transgression. If you were doing this in my clan, I would hope you would keep the chat merger focused and only engage the leaders.

It really depends on the situation, but in this case it seems legit since it was mentioned that a merge would be considered. I do think even with this said unless someone is specifically looking to merge the discussion should be between leaders and possibly co-leaders. Leading my own level 4 clan (almost level 5, finally!), I don't really want to have someone coming in without discussing it with me trying to get people to join their clan, but that's because I'm quite attached to my clan and have really enjoyed seeing it evolve into the clan I want it to be.
