I am not your average clash of clans player - i do not particularly like to attack. I much prefer farming with my resource buildings. However, that is not a very effective means of advancing through the game, as most of the late-game upgrades require a large ammount of resources to buy. Getting that ammount of currency is difficult if you don't attack, as other players may steal great ammounts of it in a single raid. The best example of this i've seen in personal experiance is the time i tried to upgrade my Barbarian King to level 10. It took me over a month because i kept getting attacked, as each attack took from me more Dark Elixir than i could produce in a whole day.
I feel the need of a change - Just as raiders receive a bonus based on how often and well they attack, the same could be done to those who rather take the passive route. Perhaps a system that would give you back some of your stolen resources, or boost your resource production progressively as days pass by without attacking, capping in about a week.
While this seems like a difficult system to put in action, i feel like it is necessary, after doing some counts - Being able to produce up to about 1900 dark elixir per day and, after reaching the 30k threshold, getting over 2.3k stolen in a single raid, making upgrading heroes extremely difficult.
May this suggestion be considered or not, i would surely welcome official imput in the matter.

Supercell impliments features to promote activity in the game, what you are asking for is the opposite. You are welcome to play the game any way you like, but SC is not going to award you for inactivity. If you choose to play passively, you have the option to boost your collectors/mines for resources; requesting that SC award you with boosted mines/collectors for "not playing" is never going happen.
I think you're saying the mechanisms by wich i see buffs to production seem to promote an "absent gameplay". In retrospect, that is true, in a way, but i still believe there is a viable way to make passive farming viable without that particular downside. As to the first comment, i take issue with your wording - i don't intend it to "reward players for doing nothing", but instead to make viable a different playstyle that currently can only be described as frustant. As to "you can boost your production", that recquires gems, wich, without spending actual money, are a pain to gather. As a student, i don't have the money to be spending with games, as is the case with many players. And using payed methods to "fix" broken parts of a game (in this case, playstyle balancing) is, at the very least, faulty. I do appreciate your oppinions, though.
Place your townhall on the corner of your village. Most people just do it for the trophies and they leave after your townhall is destroyed then therefore you get a free 12 hour shield.
I already use that tactic, but once you reach a certain threshold of avaialbe loot, you become so "tasty" it doesn't work so effectively anymore - i lost count how many TH9 attacked me when i was upgrading my barbarian king... It almost makes one cry to open the game and see "77% destruction -2300 dark elixir"
