Sometimes, while boosting barracks, I need to request but can't because I can only request once every 10 minutes. We should be able to do a gem boost to request for troops more.

Guess it would be okay but it would certainly raise issues with donation count farming.

I don't know. There isn't that much time on the Clan Castle between requests and I feel like boosting it would not really be worth it. Clan Perks decrease the time as well. With 10 minutes per request, I don't think you'll really need the boost at all.
If you would kindly fully read my original post, you will see that I do have 10 minute request time, and it is still not enough when I boost barracks with giants and archers. Obviously, boosting is not mandatory, so if you don't want to do it, then don't.
