It is indeed semantics, and folks can and will disagree on what "farming" vs. "raiding/looting" means... but, your pictures are a bit misleading in that you are missing the "relatively to the player concept."
Let me explain: I think everyone will agree that the "one goblin raiding a lot of loot" is clearly the prime example of looting. Since you cannot do such at 2k plus troph, by definition, the one goblin successful raid only occurs at low troph land. This has been nerfed, so this is a moot point. But, this would represent the extreme side of "farming"...
On the other hand, you show a picture where someone deployed 8 giants, 16 gobs and 1 WB as raiding. Yes, if the player can only hold 2 million gold and 2 million elixir, we can safely assume that the raider is a relatively low level player. Yes, such troops will feel more expensive and so, he can call it an expensive farming session, an inefficient farming session. Or, go further and call it raiding/ looting if the low level raider can only do such. It's because the effort and cost from 1 gob to the medley is even noticeable.
