I don't understand why everyone says its so hard to get the barb king at town hall seven, I did it and I've gotten the barb king to level 4 already by using an 8 dragon and 40 archer army.Originally Posted by mrezman

Supercell didn't put the lightning spell in the game for this AT ALL. The lightning spell was there BEFORE there was even DE in the game. If you read the description in the loading screen it says that lightning is to destroy a mortar or an air defense to support your troops. It doesn't say ''lightning is there to farm DE''. It was not intended at all.
Supercell's master plan was for TH7s to GEM the BK, since they don't have a drill for that reason.

I agree, I just mean the unintended consequence of the lightning-on-DE practice has been helpful to having folks increase their cup levels a bit. Or in my case, about 400-500. Which i think SuperCell would like also. Therefore, they have no reason to prevent the attacks, thou they did raise the hit points of the de collectors.
FWIW, i and many of my clanmates didn't gem the BK as TH 7s. Just raided it all. Very doable if you don't suppress your cup levels. Harder to hold onto de at lower cup levels.
Never said it wasn't doable. I said Supercell did ''forget'' to give a drill to TH7s intentionnally because they knew alot of people are too lazy/don't have time and would simply gem it. That was the intention all along.
I did farm my DE when I was TH7 for my BK. It's easy to do. But alot of people I know, that can't raid 8 hours a day, simply gemmed their BK. That's what Supercell intention behind the reservoir but no drills idea was.
People should stop thinking that the lighting on DE is there to help TH7s get their BKs. It's not. The lightning spell was there long before the DE and the heroes.

As a TH8, I farm millions of gold off of unsuspecting TH7's. I really don't mind much if they take a bit of DE in revenge. What can I use gold for? Basically EVERYTHING in terms of improving base defense strength. How about DE? Barb king upgrade and DE troop upgrade(I never use DE troops, and the BK is like a cleanup/backup troop to me). My BK is lvl 4 FYI.
If it really bothers you that much, upgrade your drill and upgrade your storage. May I remind you that you can still lightning as a TH8.
Its all fair in clashing, personally I get lightning attacks on my DE alot. One thing the lower THs forget is the revenge coming back at them is gonna hurt

I got a BK at TH7 when I had about 2000 DE I got the rest in two days after going for full drills and lightninged a few storages holding a lot of DE.
1800s is pretty sweet spot for me. Besides the huge 2.2k de lightning loss (stole 3k from the guy anyways so I still had some net gain), things have been pretty good on the storage. I just have to worry about the people going for my almost full drills each morning
