Why Lightning Spells on Dark Elixir Make Sense to SuperCell (Perhaps)

Just an idea:

Having been both the perpetrator and the victim of such lightning attacks, I understand the varying perspectives. But since my clan pushes for cups once a month, I have noticed that, as a TH 9, I can

1) Farm effectively at the 1700-2100 trophy level, and

2) Do not get any lightning spell attacks on my dark elixir when farming in this range.



I did get frequent lightning attacks on dark elixir as a TH 8 when farming in the 1300-1600 range, however, usually by TH 7s. The problem worsened significantly (as expected) the moment my upgrade to TH 9 finished.

The reason I think Supercell won't be changing this aspect of the game is that it promotes actually raising your trophy level to a point that is somewhat closer to your defensive capabilities.

Some good ideas, but they have raised the hit points of the de container, so I guess they want to help us with the lightning strikes a little bit.

Yeah, I agree. They have helped by increasing the hit points of de containers. But raising one's cup level makes a huge difference in attacks (and the ability to save up de!).

I'm not climbing trophies just to help prevent my DE from being lightning attacked, only to have more difficulties finding easy villages to farm gold... Lastly, the higher trophy range is more prone to stronger troop attacks, so you'll end up losing a lot more than just 750 DE from your storage.

I personally think the main reason is to give TH7 "hopes" of getting BK at their TH level.

Sometimes i trophy push untill 2200 trophies, and then lightning DE my way down to 1200.

Just my way of saying: "no one is safe from the wrath of Thor".

No. It's to make TH7s gem the BK. Nothing else. That's why there is no drills for TH7s, but you have access to the BK. Gems.

I never said it was wrong. But people are confusing lightnings on DE with something it is not. That's all.

I thought the same thing, but for me, farming in the 1800-2100 range has been fine as a TH 9. I haven't been subject to many attacks that go for more than my TH, which is located outside my base. And the constant lightning attacks on my DE have stopped.

I think a lot of lower TH levels are now in the 1800+ range. But those folks are trophy hunting and give me easy shields. And occasionally, lucrative revenges.
