EDIT: this is by no means a thread to change the application grounds to a clan (which is ruled out). Only to add an extra search criterion, which could even be added through search by clan description as quite a lot of clans already have 18+ in their name or description!
TLDR: Please add a search function for clans to define by age. Preferably by the ages of 12+,16+,18+,(23+),(30+). Reason: people want to play with their own age group, strategy to win wars rather problematic with younger players as they (sometimes/usually) lack insight or the will to listen to rational tactics, which is not negative for their age, but undesired by the older players who play to win. Also behavioristic differences apply and no real problems should arise by defining clan search by age.
This suggestion is posed as a possible solution for a problem that is most probably a problem for the (relatively) older players among us and not so much for the high school attendees. The thing is that I, and probably a lot of others, would really like to play the game with people of my own age. For me personally that is 18-28 (or older idc). Given the huge amount of clans that state ''18+ clan'', or have a name like 18+ or 18 plus, there is a need among the adult community to be able to distinguish the youngster community from the adult community. Especially now that communication has become key to winning Clan Wars. Communication is usually what lacks in the clans where there are a lot of high school attendees (or even pre school (!) ). Not only communication lacks often, but what I also find lacking the sense for coordinated strategy.
Even though 18 years or 28 years is no guarantee that the problems of communication and lack of sensible strategy will disappear, however, the thing I find most disturbing are the ever ongoing discussions and the utter lack of insight that results of earlier stated problems. The goal is thus not solving those problems, as they are inherent to human nature, but rather to minimize the problems.
The problem for us 18+ people is, however, how in the world do we find these 18+ clans? Not all 18+ clans are called 18+ or a variation of that. So what I propose is to add a search opportunity that adds the define by preferred age. Possible categories could be <none>, <12+>, <16+>, <18+>, <30+> etc. This age defining should not be an official requirement to join - which is usually already the case in many 18+ clans - but rather a wish or preferred age.
This, however, would not be a guarantee for us to find clans with only 18+ year olds. People can still lie about their age and join a clan that is actually looking for e.g. 18+ members. The thing is: if you can search for preferred age, the average age should go up as supply and demand is able to find itself. Thus adding the search function to define by age would be an improvement of our game experience.
Given the player base, many (perhaps most) of which are probably between 12-18, this should by no means be seen as a way to divide the player base while decreasing the playability for the rest of the population. As the majority is probably <18, the results should be that the 18+ community has a chance to easier find like minded individuals, which is now already the case in the 18+ clans etc, and the <18 community should not experience negative results because of it. Because they are the majority to begin with if I am not mistaken and if they are able to behave as an 18 year old, which 16+ should be able to do online, they would still be able to play with everyone, whereas the 18+ community would not have a negative relation with it, because they are under the impression of the player being 18+, thus solving the problems.
