So choose the bases you can attack successfully and save the ones you can't for someone else.

Why do you think Supercell felt the need to include "recommended targets" if all bases were matched individually to their same number?

How many clans exist that have an exactly equal distribution of strength between its member's bases? How many of these clans are searching for a war at the exact same time? Doesn't it seem reasonable that there would be many more clans with similar overall strength than equally distributed strength?

This is not regular multiplayer matchmaking. Clans are matched as a whole, not each individual base to another, and for good reason. A big part of the strategy for your clan comes into play by deciding which bases each of your members should attack.

First I really dont think there is anything wrong with the matchmaking. Yes rarely it brings up a bad one but what I notice is that most people dont lok deep enough into it.
When I had maxed th8 defenses I was often mirrored against a th9. When I was had maxed th7 defenses I was matched against a th8. And so on all the way down. So the issue is when a person maxes their defenses before their offense. Fyi people who believe they must max everything often find their defense maxed before their offense and therefore matched against someone higher and like to cry its not fair. The solution is to make sure your offense keeps pace with your defense. That is a strategy and a you problem not a supercell problem.
Also many clans use a mirror system of attack. But the mirror matches defense not offense. A person who has made their offense a priority over their defense (not the only thing theres a diference) will be able to attack higher than their mirror. The mirror system was a simple way tommatch so leaders could have a way to keep war attacks fair. Are we trying to be fair in the clan or do what is best for the clan. Its a team. A better way is to know your clan and match the right attacker with the right base. Ie my main clan our #1 is a ground attacker while me at #2 is an air attacker. We communicate and switch back and forth many times based on what is best for the clan.
Most post I see people know what they have to do to avoid a "mismatch" stress offense more than defense. They complain that they dont want to play that way. Why dont you want to play that way? Its not its strategy. Having supercell change the game to force everyone to play the game the same way isnt a strategy game and therefore wouldnt be much fun.
Supercell has created a game that has allowed people to have the freedom to play the game in many different ways. Enjoy the game and have fun with it.

But your clan wars as a whole... you know, like a "team" thing...

I think the current system does the very best it can at determining your clan's overall strength and pitting you up against the closest opponent. Do mismatches happen, sure, but I don't think only going by TH level would work out positively. And maybe some people would like to penalize players for rushing or uneven leveling of various things, but then it takes out the individuality of the game. No one is going to want to be forced into playing/upgrading a certain way. One issue I typically see is when you've got huge ranges of players, like a fully max th10 and a really low/new TH8 or even below, chances are if you've got enough top guys, that poor TH8 may very well get matched up against a much tougher base.

Also, we do a lot of 30 and 35 vs wars and they can take quite a long time to find matches, just goes to show you that the system is working hard at trying to find the best match. Last war we decided to just leave it alone and I think it took an hour or more and needless to say we were heavily mis-matched.

    that is false.

We do most of what you suggest already.

I will say the vast majority of the wars we have had have been even - where either side had a shot to win the war. We've only had a few real mismatches where we outclassed them or they out classed us but in every mismatch there was a clear advantage in number of THs at the top of the map, either TH10s or TH9s.

I don't suggest that match making is broken by any means, that doesn't mean I don't think it can't be improved either.

I would think the best wars are between two relatively even clans throughout the map. You will never get a true 1-1 mapping unless every base on both sides is a fully maxed but I do believe the wars where "mirrors" are similar throughout the map are the most fun.

    Just my opinion.

You don't actually get more favorable matches when you don't upgrade defenses. The whole .5 movement is designed to take advantage of the ignorance of clan members that know so little about the matchmaking system that they think your placement on the map determines your war weight. When you upgrade your offense without upgrading your defense you definitely do add weight to the matchmaking system (and thus get matched with more difficult clans), but you keep your base weak defensively so that your now stronger opponent can easily 3-star you.

Don't confuse your placement on the map with your war weight. Map placement is defensive only. War weight includes offense and defense.

1.) If th is the only component that matters in war this means only maxed bases are allowed for cw. If you upgrade your max th8 base to th9 you will not have a chance to be in a clan war. I am not speaking about elite clans. No clan at all will take you. I think we need the opposit. Give the rushed bases a chance in cw as long as they are doing good attacks. I would love to see a system where we could focus more on good attacks than planning what to upgrade first or which long time member you have to kick because they have upgraded to th10 too soon.

2.) The reason for this whole .5 stuff is because most clans are using "being able to 3 star your mirror" as condition to stay in the clan. This is an easy solution to determine who is good enough. As a leader you cant see the suggested target so you can only take the map position.
Also defense has a stronger eight in matchmaking because it is easier to calculate and harder to abuse. You simply add up all defenses. On the offense side you can be a good cw attacker with only half your troops maxed. The only thing that is addable is the spell factory, army camps and hero levels.

I assume you are talking about war matchmaking. Firstly, the current war matchmaking system seems to be very fair for my clan, so I see no need for it to change. Secondly, I know there are reports of bad matchmaking, but this would be bad in a new respect. You could have a clan of 3 newbie th9s and 7 th8s. You come up against 3 max th9s and 7 max th8s. The th9s 3 star the top 6 bases and the th8s take the bottom bases with ease. Your idea is completely flawed.
