Th9, 3 star issues! Confessions of an ex gowiper, help me fellow 9s!

Confessions of an ex gowiper, i quit gowipe cold turkey a couple of months back. So lets start from there
I quit my clan in search for a 3* minded war clan. As usual i picked up the easiest method lavaloon. Initial spam lavaloons got me some great results
Then i switched to precison drop lavaloon with a quite bit of planning.
Easy eh? Level 7 enemy aq? She dies in loon splash, throw 4 rages, boom!
The problem started a month ago when i switched to golavaloon, as i was being matched against higher 9s
Ive gone through all of jake and gadi's youtube more than i usually accept
I scout bases for hours, device the most tailor made army, discuss with my clannies, use skitch once a while.
Time for execution.... FAIL! Last air def standing hounds dead, 1 loon hanging on a tesla ect ect...
Ive never ever 3*d a strong th9! I know golava doesnt work on every base but seriously?! I mean the plan is spot on , leader gives heads up on line, but it has just never 3*d! I must have golava'd like in last 8 wars thats 16 golavaloons! All of them 70-90% 1*s!! The faq?!
I swear i aint dumb! I took a drunk iq test last evening online after my famous 1*! They say im a smart ♥♥♥♥ sapien
What am i doing wrong? I keep switching my army base specific And mentally run 100 simulations
How do those top war clans 3* every th9 on sight?
How do you guys do it??! How much time will it take till i 3* my first high level th9??!
    Im going maaaad

I feel i should just give up go back to gowipe
Also due to this ive switched a lot of clans last month to save embarrasment, probably half of forum clans, anyone who is willing to teach me or help me, il join them, aq/bk 13/16 max war troops (fyi its sexondary)

    Gohog
    go look at \/alhalla files
    Golaloon

(GoHog and Golaloon are three star strategies, I've heard of Valkyri ATTACKS aswell.)
swearing on forums is against the rules, and try hogs. Air attacks aren't always the answer
The point of Golaloon is to kill AQ cc and 1 air Defence with kill squad. After that usual lavaloon
    is it your conposition?

I recommend gohog, I've used it with th8 troops and three stars mod th9's. Think if I had vl4 gilem and lvl5 hog (l5 hogs in 5 days!!!)

golaloon on is easier with local search than war, local you get matchd with people without cc troops. Or archer or wiz mainly (easy poison)

Those top war clans don't always 3 star on sight. Watch some of OneHive Raids' Ninja Live videos, they fail 3 stars a lot. Attacking a base for clean up is much easier than the first attack. Could you upload a video of one of your attacks?

For my squad i use two golems, wiz, heroes jump and mainly take out qeen cc and atleast one air def. But i badly messup the laloon part, somehow or the other all my hounds die and there is always an air def left standing
    2 golems 3hounds

We have a mid th9 in our clan that dedicated himself to learning golaloon. He spent well over 25 wars failing to get 3 stars, or sometimes even any stars for that matter. But now, after an ungodly amount of time spent practicing, he is consistently 3 starring at his level and higher. The main reason why he kept on it was because he knew our other th9s can clean up his messes. We got eachothers backs. 8 wars is hardly enough time to iron out the kinks in your strategy, unless you're a very fast learner.

Do not fret, for learning this attack will take much time. So long as you have the support of your clanmates, anything is possible.

Don't switch to gowipe! So, my experience is similar to yours - adapting to 3* attacks was definitely not easy. Here is what I learnt in the process

    (a) golowipe is the easiest transition to 3* attacks. This works when the ADs are all in the core or near the code. Once the ADs are down, send 2 loons at each archer tower and you get 3* many times. I get 2* all the time + 3* more than 75% of the time against suitable bases.

    (b) goho is the next easiest. My heroes are fairly high, so I don't use a kill squad. I send in 1 or 2 golems depending on the base + heroes + 1 jump or wbs to get the cc and the AQ. Then I use a 2 finger release around my heroes. What this does is it keeps my heroes alive for 2* and if the hogs survive, they get the third star. I find very high success against non maxed th9s, but against max th9s, I get 2* most of the time, but 3* only when the base is very conducive (tightly packed, no dbs in good spots or at least detonatable spots).

    (c) golaloon: found this the hardest. I've almost given up

    Good luck, and keep trying.

I can do goho, but against any decent max th9 who knows how to take out hogs, its a 2*, thats why people are switching to surgical hogs nowadays and that aint easy at all

I know the feeling. People say it is similar but it is a very hard transition for me.
