Thread: We need to have forced Revenges added to the game

    I like the idea of making revenge useful again at higher leagues, but not forced. That's just a ridiculous suggestions.

    I haven't really thought it through, but what about some more time related info when you try to attack someone, just to help you decided whether it's worth trying.

    Like "Owner Online - 5 hrs 20 minutes" or "Owner Online - 40 minutes remaining". That way you know they have to come off in the next 40 minutes, but there's still a chance they could come off sooner and be attacked by someone else. It would mean people would have to come off regularly to mess with the obsessive revengers.

    Equally for shield. You could have "Village has an active shield - 1 hour remaining". If you wanted you could then stalk that player, but there's still every chance they will shield break before it's up to extend it.

    I mean the 2 things I hate most about this game are cheap shields (outside town halls) and session players (that only come off when SC kick them).

    I'm currently at 4070 trophies and I come straight off after every raid to take a defense. I don't have time (or other means *wink*) to stay online for 2 hours waiting for spells.

    Perhaps if everyone was like this the game would be better.

    A countdown timer will not help. How often does the average, active player not log in and attack at least once every 12 hours? I can't remember the last time my 12 hour shield just ran out, usually it involved a long night of drinking and a long morning of recovery where the suffering of a hangover trumps my addiction to clash of clans.


    What good is the timer if when the timer hits zero, you are still not able to attack since there's an up to 7 minute buffer where 99% of users Crystal and higher will be hit through regular matchmaking?


    The only sensible solution, but a solution that may not be as effective, is the reduction of the buffer the lower you go in league. Champion, or high level game play, is where Cheap Shielding is a problem. I don't think Cheap Shielding is possible, or at least very difficult, in the lower leagues. So perhaps the solution is to eliminate the buffer either by Crystal or at Gold. The reason I don't believe it would be that effective is that most people Gold and below can still utilize revenge.

    This can have an additional consequences of making higher level players want to move up to Crystal or higher to avoid the easier revenges in Gold and Silver.

    The best solution is to drop the dumb revenge feature from the game, altogether. Resources could be better allocated elsewhere

    Great idea OP

    not sure why so many who responded couldn't problem solve how to make it work....

    Here is how you implement it:

    1) You can only be "force revenged" once per set period. You can only use the feature a limited amount as well. It should be saved for those special revenges. Perhaps once per week as a suggested cool down period.

    2) You must not be online but can be shielded

    3) Once a target is chosen for force revenge, show the would be revenger when the target is offline...

    By limiting how much this can be used it adds a strategy element.

    Here is how you make it even more fun:

    1) call it "now its personal!"

    2) make it cost gems, suggested amount 10, so that people don't use the feature as an efficient "farming" technique. The feature should be for fun element only.

    3) Let the revenge user use extra gems to steal more than the usual loot cap. Something farming inefficient like an extra 5% per 10 gems above usual cap. Again the idea is fun via revenge. Its not really about the loot but about the damage to the person being revenged! If a person really has it out for someone and wants to drop a lot of gems to do it even let them take 100%!

    4) Boost the army of the attacker by a set % in power. 10-20% stronger troops suggested.

    5) link the original, offending, attack in the replay. When showing a "Now its personal!" revenge, the original attack plays followed by a bold message stating now its personal! Then the super revenge replay follows. Save these replays to a separate log for fun in clan viewing.

    My guess for the "game changing" update coming up: reworking of the star system leading to exposed th disappearing.
    Revenge will make a come-back!

    There is many ways to implement a use full revenge

    I would like to be able to force revenge any time.
    In force mode, i would be able to fight back my lost, tr and loot, and my lost only.
    Use stars or % destruction to determine how much you get back.

    If you think it will prevent trophee push or farm, no, if it's good for you , it's good for the other to.
    If it's bad, it's bad for them to. I see no Impact, equal chances

    It will help a lot to restore few tr at high level. Getting hit by a lower player is painfull. You would have a chance to get back few tr.

    Same chance for your loot.
    Overall progression will slow down, but slow down equally. and bring back the revenge alive as an important aspect of the game

    So you want to spend resources to remove the feature in order to save resources for something else?

    Or, just leave the revenge feature as is and actually use the resources for something else?

    It does seem a waste of resources to make a Superbowl ad about a feature that didn't work effectively before or after it aired

    Revenge is awesome at lower TH levels.

    At the higher levels, not so much.

    There isn't a need to change it.

    The only thing I wish is that they would make revenge attack time as general multi-player search but I do understand the "cheap shield" at high cup issue that brought up.
