I like the idea of making revenge useful again at higher leagues, but not forced. That's just a ridiculous suggestions.
I haven't really thought it through, but what about some more time related info when you try to attack someone, just to help you decided whether it's worth trying.
Like "Owner Online - 5 hrs 20 minutes" or "Owner Online - 40 minutes remaining". That way you know they have to come off in the next 40 minutes, but there's still a chance they could come off sooner and be attacked by someone else. It would mean people would have to come off regularly to mess with the obsessive revengers.
Equally for shield. You could have "Village has an active shield - 1 hour remaining". If you wanted you could then stalk that player, but there's still every chance they will shield break before it's up to extend it.
I mean the 2 things I hate most about this game are cheap shields (outside town halls) and session players (that only come off when SC kick them).
I'm currently at 4070 trophies and I come straight off after every raid to take a defense. I don't have time (or other means *wink*) to stay online for 2 hours waiting for spells.
Perhaps if everyone was like this the game would be better.
