Crystal 1 a Master 3 is the best in my opinion and it is where i am right now.

I'd say Masters or Champions if you are Town Hall level 9. Gold is good too but I'd try those two leagues and compare/contrast between the leagues.
How are you guys finding DE in Gold? I never had any luck there!

I am in Gold 3 and I find a lot of 2,000+ Dark Elixir raids.
Going in high leagues is not always good when farming. Its all about loot per hour, agree that the bonus is nice but you can farm much faster in mid leagues with faster and cheaper army combo. Master league would be perfect.
