It's difficult to get loot for a defenseless base, but if you play a lot, I think it should be relatively easy until mid-town hall 8.

Just max your war troops, Babrarians, and Archers. Nothing else.

To make a defenseless base you need only farm army (barb/arch/giant/minions) and war army(balloons/hounds/golem/hogs). You should max farm army and move on to new th. Maxing collectors will help you to recover lost loot because each time you log off you'll always get 3 starred. You need to break shield only when you are able to do a session.
Don't get discouraged by peoples saying its hard at th9, its very easy to farm at th9 once you get lvl6 barch. Also taking max/lvl6 giants will help you a lot farming.

Exactly. Plus you won't have to worry about walls at all. The only thing that would out up a challenge was farming your heroes to max which you don't really need to do. The two main hard things for Town Hall level 9 or heroes and walls, and since walls are out if the picture you just have heroes.
Shouldn't be a problem, farmed around 2.5 billion up to now.
I did balloons5 and light4 (for DE zapping xD) at th8 so took me like 2 months 5-10 days to reach TH9.
never ever attack just depent on war and collecters works well till max th7
