Better to upgrade various troops, or focus specifically on one army comp?

I'm a TH8 (Max th7 levels, besides level 5 archers and level 3 minions). My dragons have less than a day to reach level 3, and I was planning to upgrade hogs to level 3 next, then level 4.
But I'm wondering, since with my level 3 dragons, I'll be needing level 5 lightning to do some ZapQuake magic, should I focus on upgrading one class of troops (that you would typically use together) to improve efficiency in that one particular attack? Or should I focus on the main upgrades for each compostition? So I can be a more versatile attacker?
These "classes" I'm referring to include things like:
GoWiPe - upgrade pekka, wizards, golem
Drag(loon) - upgrade dragons (done), balloons, lightning spell, eq spell
Hogs - hogs, hogs again, healing spell

Btw, the cost isn't an issue for me, so if you want to say do the expensive golem upgrade asap, dont let the 60k DE deter you. (I can farm it :P and my storages are high enough )

Yes, you should.

Imagine doing gowipe without the golems. It'd just be wipe your bum, you got a 1 star.

So upgrade

• Drags, Lightning (EQ)
• Hogs, Heal Spells
• Golems, Pekkas, Wizards

Guess it kinda depends on what floats your boat. When I brought my third town to th8 recently I started the hot line first thing....hogs 3, heal 5, hogs 4, then wiz 5, mostly because I really don't like dragon spam and I know that I can take down just about any 8 with those troops and select castle reinforcements. I held off my barch troops for a bit and haven't really had a problem raiding with level 4 barch although archers go to 5 tomorrow. As far as golem depending on what is unlocked already it's more than just the 60k you have to worry about dark storage, dark barracks etc...and a level one is good for most purposes at 8 I'd think.....never really used them at either of my previous 2 stays at th8.
