Questions for TH9s in Titan League

What strategy did you use to get there? How many hours did you play per day? How long did it take?

I'm going to start pushing again when FEV launches, and my ultimate goal is Titan league. Last push I took a month or so to practice Surgical Loons and GoGiWi(He) and then set my record to 3300. Now I want to get a bit further with a maxed base. I want as many responses as possible so I can see what the most feasible way to climb is for us TH9s

Hi, Although im not a TH9 but being in Titan leagues is pretty much the same concept. Pushing with Th9 is not easy because all Titan bases are maxed out TH10s. But its not impossible because i do see many TH9 in Titans but i dont usually attack them because they are only worth 1 cup (im TITAN 1 btw)

1 - Find a comfortable troop combo that gurantes you a 1 star at least. You cant expect a 2 star if youre TH9. Most TH9 snipe their way up to Titans.

2 - If you wana push to Titans you need to do at least 2x 6 hour session a day and you have to profit cups from it because when you go on defence, you are only gonna loose and be a whale for someone else. So in a 12 hour session u need to make at least 50-60 cups.

3 - Dont bother going to Titan bro. Its corrupted up there. Youre only gonna be a easy 3star whale for someone who has 100 cup lower then u who is also pushing everytime u go offline. That makes your 12 hours worth of effort , gems and time just gone in the wind

In response to 1 & 2: Yeah thats about what I was thinking. It would be nice to hear somebody who is already up there pitch in what they used as well.
3: I have mostly lost interest in this game, the only thing that can hold my attention is pushing. I figured setting an almost impossible goal is the way to go

Yeah pushing is fun bro but you need to be at least TH10 to experience the excitement. With TH9 theres nothing much you can do. Seriously.

Why not upgrade to TH10? I think its about time since youre already maxed out. Dont need to worry about farming because when you push, you get TONS of loots from maxed out TH10s along with your loot bonus. You can use that to upgrade your troops and defences along the way.

Enjoy the push and experience. Dont rush it. You are more likely to come across common push base (we call them "Titan base" all the time and you will know exactly how to attack each and single one of them. Once you get the freeze spells there are much much new strategies you can try.

Trust me, enjoy the game while you can. Time will past very fast . Next thing you know youre already fully maxed out in TITAN 2/1 , spending 5-6 hours searching in the clouds and only to loose 30 cups on defence.

I use surgical loons to reach titan league. Currently i'm at 4193 cups. My highest is 4291. I'm grinding my lavas and heroes here. I play 1 session per day, around 5-6 hrs. I don't know how long it took me to reach titan league. I just enjoy farming DE up here.

Sweet! Ok good to know Surgical Loons are still usable up that high.

Yeah I probably will go to TH10 soon, but it would still be fun to push as a TH9

I was trying to get there when I had my th9 maxed but stopped at around 3865. It all came down to not having the available time required to keep moving up. Most offers once past 3800 were from 1-3 for me and when going on defense would either get a -1 snipe or a -19 snipe....since I could only get 1 real session a day getting hit twice a day for -38 just couldn't be made up. Funny that the second my th hit 10 those -19s went away....matchmaking at it's finest.

See my sig for where I'm at now. That's with max TH9 offence; defence isn't quite maxed, but is irrelevant. It's taken a few weeks, but using shields to have breaks due to real life.

    My advice:
    - go to 3200 and practice hitting the HARDEST bases you can find. I mean literally do not attack unless every single gun is maxed. They are still easier than the bases you will face higher up, due to poor layouts, and rarely having active 40/40 heroes. But you really, really want to get all your practice done when trophies are very easy to obtain. When you have to search for an hour to find an offer that nets you +5 for a 1* or -30 for a fail, you don't want to fail! I spent about 10 days at 3200 and it wasn't enough.

    - practice surgical (lava)loons, probably with a golem to tank your heroes. I used gowixx up to 3600, which is fun, but I doubt it can hit proper maxed bases, and even if it can it will be way too risky. I think some of the Savage and QW guys use drags as an alternative.

    - you need to plan to manage your time. Long sessions are more important in this game than skill or troops. So you need to plan to play for 5+ hours every time you drop shield; which means planning ahead when the next session will end and when the following shield should end so that you will be available to play then. A flexible job is a big advantage

    - some gems will help. Not essential, but I bought 2500; partly to boost, although at some cup ranges offers are so bad there's no advantage. Also to buy shields. If you can play all day every day that isn't necessary. But if you need to visit real life sometimes, then the ability to buy shields to cover those gaps will help greatly.

    - be prepared for a slog at 3900 to 4100 ish. The game is grim at that range - endless nexting past +1 offers.

    - don't panic if you have a bad day. The offers you get really are random. I had one 6 hour session with IIRC one +5 hit, 5 +1 snipes, and then I ended up attacking real TH10 bases for +1 because I literally saw nothing else. Next day I made about +50 total with no trouble.

    - keep your TH out up to about 4200 or 4300, with important loot beside it, to remove the temptation for anyone to flatten you to get the DE

    And ignore this:
Yeah pushing is fun bro but you need to be at least TH10 to experience the excitement. With TH9 theres nothing much you can do. Seriously.
Obviously you won't be getting to Legends league. But TH9 pushing it at least sometimes fun and requires at least some skill. You only have to look at all the complaint threads on here to see just how utterly, utterly awful trophy pushing for TH10 is (ie at Titans 1 / Legend)
