Coming from max th8 troops and.spells I have already upgraded:

Loons6
Arch6
Hogs5
And less than 12 hours:
Golems3
Ofc I wanna get Golems.to.4 and Witches to 2 but my.AQ is only level 8, want to get her to at least l10 but hopefully l15.
Heal6 is nice but I feel like Barbs 6 will help me gain more loot in farming, esp DE.
Arch6 surprised me on how 10% boost helps in dps and hp barbs get a bigger boost that that.
Would that be a good idea?

Yes they will, you should certainly upgrade the, after arch if you plan on using BArch / BAM.

It depends on how you use the Barbarians. If you just use them with Archers for inactive bases with Gold Mines, Elixir Collectors, and Dark Elixir Drills, then level 5 Barbarians are fine. If you use them with Heal Spells to get into bases then you will want level 6 Barbarians.
If you have no war troops to upgrade, cannot afford to upgrade any war troops for a good amount of time, or don't do wars often, I'd say just upgrade them and don't wait.

I would definitely think you should upgrade it especially since it's a commonly used farming troop. I don't know about level 5-6 since it was such a long time ago but from 6-7, I could feel the difference in the tankiness and the damage that the barbs deal.

Barbarians are great meat shield when using barch. Definitely worth upgrading.

Get golems to 4 ASAP if you war (which you do, since you mentioned them). Level 8 queen behind level 4 golems is FAR stronger than level 10 queen behind level 2 golems

Barbs6 will be done right after Golems4, but I might as well take my Golems all the way: )
Spent my Elixir that I was gonna use for Barbs6 on Maxing my last DE Drill.
Now I'm kinda forced to go with Golems4, which I'm okay with and it will pay off for war for sho!!!
Off topic: I farm with some Minions, are minions5 a good upgrade to have?

Yeah minion5 are total beasts. I got mine two days ago and they are really helpful!
