This wouldn't be a good idea because former members of the clan could shop the password around on global and then random members could join high-powered clans who want to keep their clan at closed status. Imagine if you could join mega empire or Arab emirates by entering the password that you got from a former member. That would ruin the clan. They wouldn't be able to kick people fast enough

Yeah, but you could make this better by making it that you still have to fit the requirements.

I had a similar idea about unrestricted entry !! The leader can give other players and himself a " Clan Pass Badge". Whoever has this pass badge can join the clan whenever and how much ever !
To take it away , the leader can take it !!! A player can have a maximum of 2 different clan badges only . You can dispose them if needed !!!!
I would like that idea !! It's just like a password but cannot be "told" and no need to be typed again!

Not sure how this guy or myself are wrong in anyway. If the clan password was an option. I'm sure there would be a way to make it so that only certain people can see it. I.e Co leaders, or coleaders and Elders.
If you are in a clan where you trust your members, there shouldn't be an issue about members spreading around the clan password.
I've been clashing with the same group of people since Oct of 2013. And if given out a password to any of them, I am confident it wouldn't be spread out in globals for people to join the clan.
Also by chance it did get spread out, I.e an ex-clanmate who is still bitter. You can change the clan password thus meaning he no longer knows the password.

If you set it to closed status, it's because you want it to be closed. If they wanted members it wouldn't be like that, this just seems like the OP wants to get in a closed clan and will go to lengths to get in. If it's closed, no new members. That's how they want it.
Change the password. Problem solved.
Or it means that you're at war and don't want spies to get in, but that doesn't mean you don't have a reason to want to go back and forth to a feeder clan easily without needing someone to be online in both clans to accept you.
I'd imagine the trophy req would stay?
Plus, they could change their password after kicking, nbd.
