Your plan looks good to me, post if it worked. What level are your hogs?

Base 5 is mindless for a TH8, to say nothing about a TH9.
Base 4...I'd do that differently.

yes 31-y is a great answer...
but 15 would be a BETTER answer had i given y=16
so just a friendly message to the OP... how about showing us your troops/spells/heros
I like the first strategy better. I'm thinking that your hogs are level 3.......? As for the question, x=31-y, obviously.
Don't bring dragons with hogs, they're the worst hog complement. Kill the CC with 6 wizards, an archer, and your BK, and the rest should be nothing but hogs. Each additional hog in means two hogs out and you'll end up with far more of the best cleanup troop in the game.
Dragons have the worst DPS/space ratio you could ask for and will get blown out of the sky by the two SAMs.
Do you have death loons? 32 loon loonion is the easiest, most foolproof way to take out any TH8 with 3 heals and a rage.

First, it's very hard to see the bases with all your annotations on it. At least provide a non-annotated version of the pictures.
Second, as was stated above don't use dragons with... well, with anything except dragons, or possibly a few loons.
Third, are you TH8 or TH9? What troops do you have? You seem to have settled on hogs, but there are many safer ways for a TH9 to take out a TH8 than hogs.
It's really impossible to answer your question without more information.
