    Derby League Prizes RIP-OFF!!

In order to go up the new (ridiculous) derby leagues, on HAS TO spend 30 diamonds, in a neighbourhood with three players, to request the extra 8th diamond-bought task. In order to even reach the last horseshoe, one HAS TO pursue ONLY 320-tasks.

And the "reward" for that, in the form of the extra prizes, is, in a word, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. 2 bolts, or a plank, or a damn flower basket...???

I want my 30 diamonds back. This is a bloody rip-off.

It's your choice to use diamonds. The Derby prizes have not changed. After this many derbys you should know what to expect.

Thats right . For us , winning is the best reward, our goal. Tools , decos ,etc are just bonus =) And..no-one should waste diamonds if they dont want to use them..

    No need for diamonds

In order to move up a league you just need to be placed either first, second or third. If yor group felt they had to use diamonds it's because they were matched against other groups that feel they HAVE to win. I am in a group of 4 and both last week and this week we have moved up a league WITHOUT doing extra tasks. Personally I feel that the option of buying extra tasks should be scrapped but as my group do not feel the urge to come first every week and just enjoy participating in the Derby it does not bother us that much. I left my previous group because of the must win attitude of the leaders.

So next week just hold on to your diamonds and enjoy taking part, it's much more enjoyable without the anxiety of needing to be first.

Interesting thread, will see what other contributions are made.

We are (now) a team of 10 and have gone up without really spending diamonds, we've also been carrying a few players.

I do think smaller (2-6) NH's aren't being given a fair crack at getting Horseshoe prizes, but given you're competing with other NH's the same size, you have the same ability to rise or fall through the leagues as the rest of us surely? We are all competing against other teams who use their diamonds more freely than us.

I think it also helps that I do the Derby because I like doing tasks and I like a bit of competition, the prizes 'meh' they've been pretty rubbish from the start (though have git worse, not better). If I was interested in the 'prizes' only I wouldn't do the Derby. I get far more wheating/feeding pets etc

    Choices

As has been stated in numerous posts on derby prizes and derbies, they are geared toward larger nh, not 1, 2, 3 member nh. I can't tell you the cutoff but maybe someone else knows. You can recruit more members or join a larger nh. It's up to you just like the rest of us. It's a choice you make.

As for the prizes, it runs from people who think of the prizes along the line of being paid and that they should be "worth" the effort you put into the Derby to win to ones who want to rack up trophies to people who don't care about the prizes. Would it be great if you got 100 diamonds for first, 50 for second and 25 for third? Sure. But we get basically the same things as mystery nets, giftcard redemption, town gifts, floating chest or toolbox gifts or ones from wheating and feeding pets. If you think about it, low level players are likely excited to get EM but high level, not so much.

Think about how much worse it would be if they gave great prizes. Why? It's pretty cutthroat with the crappy prizes we have now. It would magnify that to intolerable with diamond prizes or coveted decor.

Bottom line, you chose to participate in the derby with crappy prizes which has not changed and you used diamonds to try to get to the last horseshoe. And you chose your nh. If you want to get to the last horseshoe, you can join a larger hood. It was never meant for tiny nh and is structured toward larger groups and I doubt SC will change that.

It's more amusing for those with deep pockets
