Its upto you to decide whether to upgrade to TH9 or not... I have rushed to TH9 when i was around lvl 60 (lvl 6 n 7 walls).. n here I am now... lvl 112, TH9. with 95 legos n rest skulls....few more defences to max out... Just enjoy ur game..dont bother wat others will say or think..I have always enjoyed my game..

I think you should make a good start on those level 8's you can finish them during the TH upgrade.

Only dark troops and barb king need to be upgraded to go to th9, in saying that it will give you excess of everything else to upgrade walls etc, do dark stuff now everything else will catch up!
You can't use those elixir and those elixir is a waste if you farm hard in th8

I see you are still a lvl71 aswell, that triggers a lot of warning lights in my head. Ussually a non-rushed guy will hit TH9 only around lvl90. So I can conclude that you need to max your def aswell

I went to TH9 early with mostly lvl7 walls and I'm loving it, TH9 is so fun and awesome, don't stay down at TH8 t max those walls, move up to TH9 as that's where the real run starts, even though I rushed slightly I'm not having any problems.

As long as your defenses and the troops you need are maxed, you are not rushed and dont tell me the story of the bad th10s crushing your base. I went to th9 with pink walls, but max defense and it only became much easier. Even without xbows and only the additional defenses it is much easier.
For farming it is the same. The queen easily compensates the 10% loot penalty and with lvl6 giants it is even easier.
Maxing walls at th8 is nonsense as long as you are not in a very war focused clan where you need to 3 star your mirror.
