Who cares? If someone wants your loot, they will take it. Being 1 level behind on walls really does not matter. (Don't give me th10 feed garbage, coming from a max th8 or not, a th10 will steamroll you.)

If you are farming focused:
If your farming troops are maxed, you only need maxed wiz towers and mortars to prevent most attacks. Priorities at th9 should be offence (spell factory, lab, cc, camps, farming troops), xbows1, new defences to th8 level, mortars and wiz towers. I get sniped 90% of the time with this and the 10% doesn't even reach my de storage.

I maxed muy first account at every level. My second account is progressing much faster and is more fun with a bit of rushing

I think I worked out that lvl7 walls are the lowest wall that need more than one WB of any lvl to get through... And since there's now the EQ spell to take out any walls, whatever the lvl, I guess this is more of a debate than it would've been traditionally.

My primary account is a TH10 with 1/2 the walls at lvl7, 1/4 of the remaining walls at lvl8, and the other 1/4 at lvl9. I think walls are mostly overrated except in your core where they can slow down troops from moving on to the rest of your base to go for the 3rd start/more loot. Most people don't bring enough jump/eq spells to get through an entire base, so making sure they have a hard time getting past your TH is kind of important.

Having said that, I'm going back and forth between upgrading the rest of my walls to lvl8 (with an eye towards dumping excess elixir into them to get them to lvl9) and maxing my defenses to TH10 levels. As long as your offense and your defenses are maxed or really close, you should still scare off most people that might normally try to steamroll you. (And as a TH9, most TH10's will steamroll you anyways, maxed walls or not).

I upgraded to TH9 with 25% walls level 7 and had no problem getting them to level 8 straight away if I'm honest with you. The grind at TH8 for walls was very difficult for me, but I found that raiding got a lot easier when I could pick on TH8s with full storages and actually take all the loot rather than 2/3rds of it. Plus, with the AQ I could attack TH9s and take their storages too and so I was able to upgrade walls to level 9 with elixir while finishing off my level 8 walls with gold.

You're not rushed, but you will be if you just neglect your walls and just do defences. Start now while you can.
