    New In-Game Chat Feature!

Hey everyone! My name is WilmingtonHD and I have come up with what I think to be a really cool new feature to add to the in-game chat within Clash of Clans. I hope you enjoy reading what I have to say and if you have any questions or comments, you may either reply to this thread or PM. Thanks for you're time!

So let me start this off with an example of something I'm sure everyone had run into when it comes to the in-game chat. Have you ever been trying to have a one-on-one discussion about something in your clan chat with someone, but you find it difficult to spot that particular individuals message with all of the other massages flashing by? Also, when you're chat isn't even open and you get the little red number notification by the chat button? So then you find yourself scrolling through tons of messages, just to see if that one individual replied to you. Annoying right? There has got to be a way to instantly check if someone is talking about you, or too you in chat right? Well now there could be!

The answer to this problem is not a new concept, however it is new to Clash. To fix this problem, all you would have to do is add a function where if someone (For example) wants to talk directly to me, all they have to do is type @WilmingtonHD in the chat, along with what they wish to say next. Then the persons message would be highlighted in a bright color so that I could quickly, and easily see if they were talking to me directly.

For the notification part, when a player doesn't have their chat window open, along with the usual red number notification, they could add a second colored number notification just below the red one! This would make one-on-one conversations in clan chat (Or global chat) much quicker, easier, and convenient.

Thanks again to everyone who took the time to read this, please let me know you're honest feedback through reply, or PM. Thanks and have a great day!

I really like this idea! The only problem I can see is if you misspell the players name, when it sends you end up having a private post there for everyone to see.

Well it would not be a private message, the only purpose of this is to make it easier to spot when people are talking directly to you. Also to avoid spelling errors, when you enter the @ symbol, a prompt of all the current players in the chat would appear. Therefore you could type the first couple letters, then select the persons name when it narrows down.

Oh, I understand now. Well I still can see the use for this, and I like the idea of a prompt with chat names.

Bumping is not allowed in this subforum.

I actually kind of like the idea, although instead of highlighting the post, I would use the same mechanism used for indicating open donations. Instead of a green arrow, it would be a yellow arrow that will skip down to the next post that has @username indicated. That would improve upon even your original request I think!

That would be highly ineffective in a 50 man clan... I like the simplicity of just typing @username if you misspell, well, then no user gets the arrow indicator.

Just thought of another addition... an @all (that can only be used by Co/Leaders) that will effectively be used to supplement clan mail. Or replace it all together? Red arrow indicator?
