I like this idea because it works with something that we already have instead of introducing something new. It increases the efficiency of the existent potential. Very nice idea!
I would add to this another efficiency increase which was already mentioned several times in the past: the gold for clicking 'next' should go to the villages that got skipped. Currently, gold vanishes into thin air each time we press next. This gold could be kept in the resource cycle if it was assigned to the skipped village. I don't dare to do any math here, but I assume that the aggregated gold that is currently lost each day by pressing next must be a hell of a lot. Furthermore, it might (at least in theory) encourage more players to leave their defense open while offline (less usage of shields) which in turn could provide a higher number of potential villages to raid. But that is more speculative and only a side effect that could further add to the availability of loot.
