The xp level has no influence on the game, because it is not balanced at all. You just get it by keeping your builders busy, donating lvl1 giants to anybody or beating the same goblin level with your queen again and again. If the level is used for anything, we need it balanced out more like in boom beach where it is a requirement to upgrade your th and ever upgrade has a unique amount of xp you get for it.
Also you get xp by upgrading stuff. Why should pgrading stuff give additional rewards? You already git the effect of the upgrade. If we get some form of talents it should be something you can purchase with ressources like walls as endgame content (which would ♥♥♥♥ off most gemmers that do t like farming and are happy they have bought their base and heroes). Or another solution would be to give it as a reward for clan related quests like the operations in boom beach.
