Attacking in war without heroes TH9

You have to attack lower. A th 9 can easily 3* any th8 with lavaloonion without heroes. You cant be expecting to attack an decent th9 without heroes and expect anything more than 1-2 stars. When I was on the hero grind at th9 and in wars I always just saved both of my attacks until the last half of the war at used it to clean up the tougher th8 our th8 didnt 3 star. This allowed our th9s to focus on the opponents' th9 and not have to worry about cleaning up any th8s.

I'd probably run a two heal earthquake GOWIVA and bum rush the TH for two stars, going for more is playing with fire and will likely result in one star.

The kill squad.. now you won't have enough hogs to three the base.

Looking at the 140 day wait time (nearly 5 months) to get from 10-->30 with both heroes down at once is really daunting. As others have mentioned, you cannot reliably knock out a legit th9 without heroes without getting lucky (with the attack or with a poor layout). Your best bet is quattrolaloon/pentalaloon if the xbows are grounded (and you can probably still 3 star raised xbows if they are level 1), but it is a pretty big risk.

So yes, you will sit out a lot of wars, but if you have a good clan/good leadership, you should still be able to get some wars in. We have had 3 members do the all out th9 hero grind and still be involved in about half of the wars. You are pretty much committing to have that member attack the best th8s (you should be able to smash any th8 without heroes) and having other th9s cover for them. What you lose here is redundancy in your attacks and there is more pressure on the other members to get their 3 star attacks in, but ultimately you are doing the hero grind to be a better attacker and help the clan. The clan gets better when you are better. We won about 75% of our wars while we were doing this, which might not be good enough for some clans, but that is about our win rate anyways. If you have to sit, that sucks, but you can time your hero upgrades to ease the pain. I just hit lvl 30 heroes last week and it is awesome. Worth the wait because you can run more complex attacks and have more fun doing so.

just take out the hardest th8s. I know good war clans don't have to worry about their th8s in war but the average clan will most likely have your top th8s struggle with max th8s. take out the tricky looking ones and let your th8s do the first attacks on the other th9s so your th9s have a better shot at them.

Maybe at th7. But higher up you use them to take out key targets before the main attack, like the cc, defending queen, AD, etc

You will need a lucky low level TH9 enemy to get 3 stars. Hope for non-dragon in CC, enemy AQ low level 10, etc.

Sometimes it's still possible to use a Golem, pekka and few wizards as kill squad. Then quad lava loon. Add few oNions to taste.

Preferably war with a single hero in TH9, still has chance for 3 stars.

What is the best attack to two star or three star other th9s in war without any heroes? Assume sitting out of war and taking lower bases/clean up is not an option. I'm thinking pentalaloon but no one seems to be giving me an answer, and I've heard pentalaloon is REALLY hard since the second air sweeper update. Gohowiwi and Golowiwi I feel would be significantly weakened without the heroes aiding in the Gowiwi portion, and GoHo and GoLaLoon would be significantly weakened during the Go portion. The same goes clearly for GoWiWi and GoWiWiPe.

Gowipe/Gowiwi are both strong 2* options. I keep both heroes down constantly but still warred. I 2 starred with both attacks at beginning of war to expose traps and such for my clanmates to 3*. Just focus your Gowipes and you'll get 2 every time.

As others have stated, warring without heroes is not advisable at TH9, especially if you are trying to go for 2-3 stars against decent TH9s and you cannot hit down.

But if you love warring that much I would advise joining a war farm clan and practice a few war raids without heroes to see how you do, that way you won't be a liability.

Dont war without BOTH heroes. Do one at a time. I usually stick with a laloon varient when i have one down. If its your aq thats down kill the cc before your main attack.
