A tier 1 troop to 5 (archer, barb, goblin.)
A tier 2 troop to 5 or 3 (giant/wb 5, healer 3.)
Other: Spell, Dark troop, tier 3 troop.
Almost there, I'm still deciding between archer and goblin.
Goblin:
Pro: I'm using it more than any other troop at the moment. I'd say in the past 3-4 days, I've used about 90-95% goblins, 5% other stuff, and 5% stuff for clan donations. Without the clan donations, maybe over 97%. Mohawks are ultra cool.
Con: They're so effective now, they don't need to be raised. Also, if I do raise them, the additional cost to build might not translate into bigger profit, e.g. cost will increase by 25%, will that equal 25% more profit? I don't think so. Additional hitpoints are minimal at best and I doubt it will make much of a difference. Not wanted for clan donations.
Archers:
Pro: In the long run, will be part of virtually any army comp. DPS jump is a massive 25%. Cool green cloak.
Con: I'm not using them right now nor in the near future. Very desirable for clan donations.
Both: Cost to upgrade is the same for both.
I think it's coming down to what do I need now, not later.
edit: i went with archers. Main pont for me was that goblins rule right now, they don't need upgrading.

I went from TH5 to TH8 and I couldn't find good resources at first. Then I brought my trophy count up and i was finding easy 150K of each bases. I don't think premature THs are as big of a deal as everyone makes them out to be. I was level 44 when I went to town hall 8, now level 75 TH8, doing fine.
