TH8.75, Wise Choice?

TH8.75; a TH9 that builds EVERYTHING but X Bows, and upgrades only key defenses and focuses on offense first. Purpose: Wars.

So I am the leader of my clan. I am always ranked No. 1 in 10 v 10 wars. I am assuming that when I'm TH9 in a month or 2, we'll still be about the same clan (Recruiting is SO HARD without any profile flaming lips or only 1 from rage spell). So I opt out till, like, hogs are maxed and Golems are 3 or something.

Assuming by then, We're still the same 10 v 10 war clan or a 15 v 15, and assuming I'd be our only TH9, would it be wise to do TH8.75 to make the wars not to difficult for my loyal lower members? Or build X Bows and push harder?

I was never a fan of .5 strategies. When i hit TH10 first thing i built was inferno towers. No problems at all for me or my clan members at war. Missmatches occur all the time, either you have the xbows or not, so just make your game enjoyable and dont worry about it.

Nah, I prefer the TH 8.9831 strategy. That's the way to go in wars

the 1st thing i built is that xbow
get those Ballons to lvl 6 , that lava , those lvl 5 hogs and u ll 3 star any mid town hall 9 easily.
i'm doing wars as a TH9 ( maybe 15 wars )
no one 3 stared me yet , because not everyone watch utube , many noobs , everyone just go for a 2 stars gowipe.

with xbows = u ll 3star any TH8 , but TH8 can't 3 star you.
without xbows = u ll 3star any TH8 , but TH8 can 3 star you.

I'll take all comments into consideration. So currently it is better to build X Bows.

I encouraged a couple of our guys to try the 8.5 route months ago. Having seen the results both ways everyone who has upgraded has followed suit. I don't think anything would make them build xbows now short of me telling them build-or-be-kicked.

The 8.75 with more defences, especially teslas, is especially dangerous. It's so easy to underestimate these

If you are #1 in your clan, TH8.5 or whatever you want to call it will not help you at all. You'll get matched with rushed TH9s even if you are a maxed TH8 anyway, just build the bows - it's just an archer tower with extended range. I mean, c'mon 50 damage and one extra tile than an archer tower?

When my th9 became such I built both xbows right away(full storage, collectors and castle). Of course that was back when wars were in their infancy, never had issues back then but nobody was really engineering at the time.

Dangerous as in, it'll defeat the purpose or dangerous for the attacker?
