I am at TH7 now . Almost maxed my base except for a few walls and collectors. Is it really important for a TH7 to maximize his collectors as well before going to TH8 ?

I vote for maxing! I only have a limited amount of time for raids everyday, so getting the added output from upgraded mines and pumps helps me keep the upgrades going.
Collectors should be a priority anytime they can be upgraded. Think of all the loot you have given up by not upgrading them already.

I maxed everything except collectors and air sweeper. Collectors are on 10 and sweeper's on 1.
Currently new th8.
Max it so when you quit it will be juicier for the rest of us
