Why are the CW selections so unfair?

We had a lot of fair clanwars until the moment that a couple of guys (including me) upgraded their townhall to lvl 9. Why is this such a big problem? It is not slightly unfair but really to the point that it becomes pointless to even waste troops on it. We are placed against bases that are nearly maxed with perhaps the exeption of the hero's and the walls while we just started with TH9. What are we supposed to do? Do we really need to quit playing clanwars until all of our troops are maxed? I mean, it is not just unfair to the people with th9 but towards the whole clan who will lose every time when we join the CW. Up to the point where we upgraded our TH8 to TH9 we had more then 20 victories in a row and since then we had only one victory because that clan refused to put up a good fight, like no CC troops etc. Sorry about my rand but are we the only clan that has this problem or is Supercell really that bad in picking opponents?

Did you guys rush? Having a higher level TH leads to more difficult opponents. Rushing will give you opponents matching your TH lvl, not your buildings' levels.

My th is rushed, the other two townhalls are not rushed. We tried also with just my th in cw and also with the th that were not rushed. No matter how we do it. We always seems to get unfair opponents. Today we had an opponent with nearly all defenses at max and nearly all troops at max with the exeption of the walls and hero's. How can you beat that as a starting th 9?

Why should it matter btw if your th is rushed or not? The selection process should pick a balanced opponent. Rushed or not should not matter.

They aren't unfair, you just don't understand the algorithm. Heroes matter very little, and now a bunch of people in your clan have xbows which tilt your weighting to be much heavier than before even though you aren't any better offensively yet because you don't have high level queens.

Are you taking the 8.5 route?

Just tied ( won by % ) a war ... Our top would've been their #4.,.. In pretty much every category their top 5 were better than ours ... I don't understand how our towns match up ... It did take us a long time to find a match though ... Not sure if that has anything to do with it...

    bows bows bows.

bows are very heavy and will hurt you, gonna take a month or 2 for your offense to catch up.
there are several articles on forums about not building bows for X amount of time once you hit9.
same thing for infernos at 10 for when you get there fyi.

and its not about rushed/premie/max its about TOTAL WEIGHT vs TOTAL WEIGHT.
coc is a strategy game and should be played as such.
and you won the war.... hmmm seems like it wasnt such a mismatch, musta had your weight advantages somewhere...... no surprise

Bad players only inspire other bad players, and the good ones will move on. Highly competitive people want to be surrounded by other highly competitive people. Not slackers that want a free ride and notoriety without pulling their weight. Your team is only as good as your worst player.

Nope. It specifically uses building levels only and ignores TH.

Early TH9 is a difficult time. One problem is you can do half of the defensive upgrade as far as the matching system is concerned in a few days (because the xbows are active as soon as they start building). But it's a couple of weeks at least until the first troop upgrade comes out of the lab. So after the first week you are considered about as close to a max TH9 with v strong heroes as to a max TH8 defensively. The offence will also count - but unless the server can find another clan with a TH9 a few days old, you're more likely to match to a medium TH9 than a TH8. So some matches will be accurate, and some will be against you; few will be in your favour.

If X-Bows are so heavy weighted then how is it possible that te guy that I had to defeat had two lvl 3 X-Bows? All his deffences were higher then my defences en al his offences were higher or at the same level then my offences. Typicaly the number one spot is the most important. Although XP is not leading in this, it is a good indication that he is 20 XP points higher then me. It is very unusual that the difference is made bij the lower bases.

    U may get better matchup

If u let ur th8 guys only participate in cw till u max ur troops and defences.

But Believe it or not, in the future if u max th9, u may face couple th10 bases /2 inferno towers /3 xbows and ur clan does not have a single th10.

I remember this situation, my clan faced 4 th10 bases ( 2 infernos, 3 xbows) nd we didnt have a single th10.
