Honestly, at th8, there aren't many elixir upgrades and you are left with a ton of elixir and very little gold. What happened in December 2014 was SuperCell let walls lv6+ be upgraded with elixir but after the Christmas Update it was moved to walls lv9+. I really want this feature to be brought back BUT for lv7 walls and up so th8 people can upgrade their walls faster. For me, I have a maxed th8 but it would have been faster to max lv8 walls with elixir. Many people have wanted this also so I know I'm not the only one.

lvl7 walls cost 200k, in most cases that can be 1 attack. now when your doing 4m loot per wall that is a different story

Someday you'll be a TH9 with actual elixir needs and will understand how the economy as a whole will crash if TH8s can treat walls as elixir sinks.

I maxed my skulls and defenses before I could complete all my TH8 lab upgrades.

A TH8 clasher could only gem to complete lab upgrades faster but can always farm harder to finish skull walls and defenses faster. For me gemming is harder than farming. I would rather wait than gem.

Personally, I'm not going to upgrade my town hall just because I have everything maxed. There's no sense in upgrading my TH if I can't 3 star a maxed 8. Now when I can "consistently" 3 star a MAXED TH 8, TH 9, here I come.
