Significance of maxing dark elixir drills

I always max my economy first, at each level my first priority is to max all drills and mines. It has always been well worth it to me as I can usually only play a few hours a day (and not farm all my waking hours).

And that is what EVERYONE should do. Higher lvls = more income.

There have been many similar threads and even threads saying upgrading any mines etc is pointless...I couldn't disagree more. Overnight and after a day at work my pumps generally have around 35k in each one..Why would you turn down that easy loot and the same goes for the DE.
It keeps the economy flowing which is the real irony of people saying 'Don't bother, just raid for it' and also you will be surprised how quickly you max them and then just forget about them and move onto the rest of your base.
They may not be sexy upgrades but do em and forget em.

Whether lazy farmers or not, my mini TH10 with 3x maxed DE drills, I manage to upgrade to AQ20/BK20 so far. But to all honesty, it is an idle account for 1 year.

Imagine the DE collected for 2x 20 levels. HH is <50k only though.

In my opinion, you should first upgrade your army camp. 20 more army is so important in clan wars. after that its good idea you can upgrade them. you need lot of dark elixir in town hall 9.

As a TH 9 with 2 lvl 6 d.e. drills, you get 4.8K d.e. daily with no effort.
As a TH 10 with 3 lvl 6 d.e. drills, you get 7.2K d.e.
.
Let us say that you will build your king and queen's altars at th 9 and upgrade them to lvl 30 at the same time non-stop:
Total upgrade time from lvl 1 to 30 is 157.5 days
157.5 days*4.8K = 756K d.e. produced passively.

Now, you will upgrade your th to lvl 10
total upgrade time from lvl 31 to 40 is 70 days
70 days*7.2K = 504K d.e.

(all this if you upgrade both of your heroes at the same time all the time)

As said, should be no doubt about it, start from th9 change youd mind, see the world in dark instead of pinky, ups yours drills to max and do same for 3rd one once th10 and focus your eyes more on de when farming

There are no good collector raids, if nobody upgrades their damn collectors!

Also, people seem to quit the game because loot for upgrades is hard to come by.

I would recommend going for the upgrade as others have said it's free money. Plus if you get busy irl or have a bad farming week it all helps with little effort.
