My total weight was 384k. First war the enemy was 440k. This is about +15% war weight, beyond your 10% threshold. Matching took 17 minutes.

Max TH9 is 75k war weight. Add 15% to that and you've paid for 2 inferno level 1 (on top of the same defenses).

Well I have only recently started calculating war weight clan vs clan. Last 3 wars were 5% 7% and 9% all against us.

We are on a 22 match winning streak but these three matches appear to be consistent with the vast majority of our matchups.

My % may be off but I feel my logic is sound. Perhaps using an engineered clan may skew the %'s against you since attack has some small unknown weight.

For instance a no defense clan (if it found matches) would likely throw give an insane % difference. As it's based on a very low defensive total.

Here are two big examples from recent Turtles history.

We fought and won while being down 22 vs 40 infernos. Our total weight was 2174 and theirs was 2716. They were +24.9%

We fought and lost while being down 16 vs 36 infernos. Our total weight was 2080 and theirs was 2559. They were +23.0%

Mismatches a lot bigger than 10% have happened to us. Both of these were from mid to late August. These are also on a clan that is tilted towards offense, but less than in my personal testing examples. We had 4 TH9.5s in both these matchups, so a slight inferno disadvantage is expected, but not 18 and 20.

Because of a few wars like this (these were the worst, but +15% to +20% have happened too) we had our TH9.5 put down infernos. We've also slimmed down our heavy TH10 count some since then and haven't had a repeat of a match this bad (yet).

Well, I was th 9.5 for 2 months before I buy the infernos. It's not about gaming the matchmaking, its about upgrade order strategy. Why favoring offense over defense is lame? You do your defense we do our offense. I can break your high defense, while you can break our weak defense. Why it isn't fair? For me attacking is more fun.

I don't believe it works for easier matchmaking for the whole clan war too, but with th 9.5 I can rank below my other th10 clanmate, and I got easier mirror to practice before I am ready to rank higher and get tougher mirror.

You never hear Italian football team shout "come on Spain strength up your defense like we do, if not you are a coward!"

Open your mind guys. Your way is not the best way for other people. Everyone have the right to play as they want.

Not everybody is as savvy as you th9 who said its easy to 2 star th10 with max inferno. Everybody have their own learning pace. Some who can easily adapt to th10 attack strategy should directly build infernos, but for some other who struggle, th 9.5 is the best transition.

You don't have to take that decision. Holding of any defensive upgrades at a new th is just silly. You Can do Them at the same time you know.... And be harder to 3 star. A th10 without inferno is easy prey

we have a 9.5 in our clan, and what I can see is that he is never 3 starred, but he consistently gets 6 stars in wars. Probably the most consistent in our clan. its pretty amazing - his attacks have gotten brutal.

He says he is only using it as an upgrade strategy, pushing infernos to the back of the upgrade list.

works for him, and we all like seeing 6 stars rung up every war.

I was trying just to get fair wars because I was a full 75k TH9 2 weeks ago and my mirrors are always 83~94k. I don't have nothing than camps and lab maxed in TH10.

supercell please fix this matchmaking I can't deal with inferno towers 3 and xbows 3 Im the only one TH10 in my clan and I don't any IT at the moment, this is imposible IM lvl111 having to face a 144 extreme far ahead. n2 and 3 and 4 have lvl9 walls full and almost maxed TH9.

Yep, that .5 stuff doesn't work anymore.

I'm currently TH9.5 I'm the only TH10 in my clan. We normally run 20vs20 right now and I always get matched with a mostly rushed TH10. They always have infernos but it varies. Some are lvl 3 some are lvl 1. Their walls are weaker and their troop levels hardly ever match mine.

As a TH9.5 I set my priority to upgrade troops and spells. Right now I have Max Golems, LVL 3 Freeze, LVL 4 Pekka done. I can for the most part 2 star any of those bases regardless of inferno lvl. What I think helps me the most though are my Hero levels which are both lvl 19 atm.

I also added all the TH10 traps, extra walls and just finished maxing out my teslas. I do not plan on adding any further defensive upgrades right now. Working on maxing out wizards then freeze spell. I say keep focusing on your offense. How many TH9s do you have? We are a mix of TH9/TH8/TH7

It doesn't work if you are the only .5 in the clan.

The whole clan must be .5 for it to be successful.

Move to another clan where everybody follows the .5 strategy or start upgrading your defenses because .5 strategy won't help you at all.

.5 is about sacrificing defenses on your own base for the clan as a whole. You have to remember that you are not being individually matched against any other bases - the only criteria considered for war matchmaking is the overall weight of the clans.

And if you're the only player in your clan making this sacrifice, the benefits will be negligible.

As far as I understand it does not work, if it's only the top ranked player who is going .5
Either get all the top 10 players into the .5 strat or get players into your clan who'll be ranked above the .5 base or bases.
