How frequently do you upgrade heros?

I am a th9 with 16/14 heros currently. Currently as a college student, I have fairly a good amount of free time available, but also many activities I could do in this time. I am a serious warrer, who is still an 8.5(8.4 since I have 5 unmaxed th8 defeneses, on purpose ofc). I do this so that I can still 3star the low th9s I matchup with in war even with both heros upgrading ie. I dont have to opt out of war.

The initial plan after going to th9, was to upgrade both heros non-stop until 20/20 atleast. But around this point itself, I find myself lagging behind schedule. Since I am leader of a serious war clan, tough battle days also affect my farming. I have new th9 alt(which is a plus for my farming actually due to constant max wiz donations), and I war continously with both these accounts ie. have 4 th9 war attacks to plan every 2 days.

Is it reasonable to do only one hero for now in my case, or is it worth devoting some more of my free time to ensure both heros are being upgraded constantly(I can afford the occasional boost)? Maybe wait till the clashcon update to see if we'll have upgrading heros in war? I've seen many posts saying "both my heros are constantly upgraded" so I believe its not too uncommon. How frequently do you guys upgrade heros and how much time do you spent for farming the de?

You can war without king so just gem queen upgrade time.

For my main, I am King 25 and Queen 23. I don't do both together. I use Super Queen to get DE to upgrade king. I war and do walls while getting DE for queen.

For my second account, I just got to TH 9 recently, so I am King 10 and Queen 9. The goal is to get Queen to 15 and then Super Queen until I have a 20 King.

My queen is 35-36 and king 25-26... I don't war, just continuous upgrading, been that way for months... barely have any practice at go wipe etc.

I am alternating between the upgrading the heroes. The King 2 levels ahead of the Queen (the point where the price for the upgrade is the same), the last 4 upgrades have been done with a 22-27 hour overlap where both heroes are upgrading at the same time.

I am a member of a FWA clan ("Farm with US") we are at clan level 4, we war constantly and we have zero wins.

LOL - I assume you guys are only warring to get the L5 troop upgrade perk and just 1 star as many bases as possible to pick up clan xp?
