Questions about having a second account on one Android device

    Hi all.

I am approaching a fully max th9 in the next couple months or so and am looking at starting a mini account and keeping the main one for warring purposes for a good while. However, I would highly prefer for both accounts to be on the same device. I currently have no access to a second device and to buy another one would mean I'd almost certainly not use it for any other purpose but CoC.

I am aware that it is no longer against the ToS but that it is unsupported by Supercell to have multi-accs on one device but the phrase I keep reading is 'if something goes wrong it is possible to lose one of the accounts, and Supercell aren't obliged to help recover it', but I haven't yet read an explanation in detail of the risks of multi-accing.

So the main question for me is: What can go wrong with multi-accing on one device? Is it worth it to do this or is a second device a far, far more safer bet. To lose my Th9 after all this progress would be utterly unthinkable, so I am looking for some knowledgeable advice on this matter so that I can make up my mind if it is all worth the risk.

I play on Android, the account is always backed up to Google Play, I have not linked any device to the account.

What also worries me is that in order to switch accounts, it looks like one has to disconnect an account thats currently logged on from Google Play for a bit. Is this part of the risk?

And just to close off, I have seen a couple videos explaining on how to do this but just to minimize risk, those who do run a second account, can you point me to a definite, good video guide (by PM if necessary) on how to set up the second account?

    Thanks!

If you have a "modern" Android device, you should be able to setup multiple users. In this case, you just need to create a new Google account and add it as an additional user to your Android device. Then you run CoC and link it to Google+ just like your first account. After that, it's simply a matter of choosing a user on the device to switch between accounts. Very easy and secure.

I do this quite a bit on multiple devices, and it works flawlessly. I currently have 3 accounts that I regularly access from my phone and tablet.

Was worried when I seemed to see it happen in one of the vids. Thanks for the heads up joe.

Running CoC on a LG G3, it is fairly modern for this purpose.

I am going to try your method first.

    Thanks for the replies, guys.

The above mitigates any risk to basically zero. As long as you keep access to that Google Play account you will always be able to recover your account, even if your device were to be destroyed.

So once your account is backed up you can freely clear Clash app data and start new villages without any fear of loosing progress.

It is recommended to create a new Google Play account for the new village, so that it also gets backed up to Google Play (for the same security reasons explained above).

Once you have two villages and each is backed up to Google Play there's zero risk in loosing progress from either account. You can do whatever in Clash and nothing trully bad will happen. So don't be afraid of disconnect/connect Google Play in settings, that's the main to switch between Clash accounts on Android.

You basically need to do two steps:
    1. Create a new village. This requires eliminating the application data from the device, so that Clash thinks it's a fresh install.
    2. Link new village to new Google Play account for backup purposes.

    Things that are weird/annoying

Support tickets are tied to the device not the account. You will see/be able to respond to them on all accounts. If you use a second device, the ticket will not show up on any account there.

Each time you reset data the music turns back on.

First time, I think you need the second account on the device before launch clash after you delete Clash's Data. Otherwise it by default logs you in to your primary account I believe (this is so long ago for me it might not be true anymore) I can confirm that after you have 2+ accounts, you can pick accounts/add account without it already being on the device.

    Suggestions

Install ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (stacks of blue) and/or get a second device. Being able to hang out on your second account and easily donate, chat in clan, etc is nice, even when your device is tied up.

I am running all 3 accounts on my android device with no problems. Very easy to do. It isnt against any rules and all 3 have a gmail account attached to them.

So long as all accounts are linked to separate google play accounts, there is basically nothing that can go wrong other than in the very short term.

Occasionally, if I have a poor connection, I find I can't switch between accounts in-game, particularly on my old Sony Z1. I haven't experienced that yet on my newer LG G4, but that may just be because it is better at getting a decent connection. I have never had an issue switching on a decent WiFi connection.

I played two accounts on the Z1 from December 31st until August 30th, when I got the G4. For the last 10 days I have been playing 3 accounts between the two devices, switching regularly between all 3 on each device.
