What strats should I use to 3 star as a TH8

Gowipe is a 2* start unless you are attacking down a town hall level. The only reliable 3* start for 3* every single time is hogs. GoHo, surgical GoHo, shattered surgical GoHo, 2 finger drop, surgical hogs, Asian wall drop, GoVaHo, so many different deployment/ks methods to 3* a th8 with hogs. I see maybe 1 3* in an entire war with a th8vth8 gowipe. Gowipe is a 2* start. Hogs are a 3* start. 2 stars lose wars. Gowipe loses wars.

I've heard that Asian wall drop method before. I've got some more hogsearch to do! Thanks for the strategies!

I've just been using what I've been taught which has worked wonderfully. I just 3 starred a base that an elder higher than me in my clan dropped down and could not but I will try that composition and let you know how that turns out.

If a 9 is attacking an 8 and GOWIPing he's doing it wrong. Tell him to loonion 8s if he has death loons, its foolproof.

Awwwww, the above poster is so adorable. I bet you his/her war stats are a few hundred stars short of most GoWiPe users so he needs an outlet for that pent up anger.

Anyone who blatantly writes off any strategy as a 2* this or 2* that is a full on noob. End of story.

"War stars" is a bit misleading, person A can get a 3 and a 1 with hogs and person 2 can get two 2 stars with GOWIPEs. Since everyone gets 2 war attacks, the expected stars of a clan where everyone gets a 3 and a 1 is MUCH higher than one where everyone gets a consistent two stars. And yeah, GOWIPE is a two star strategy because we're constantly attacked by GOWIPE and only use hogs, their GOWIPEs never beat our maxed 8s and we three star a lot more of their 8s with hogs.

All of you think too much. When I was a th 8 I did ten dragons and 5 max balloons and three starred 95% of the time. It's that simple.

Alot has changed. I was at the end of th8 on the first hit point buff to buildings (last december ish). That buff causes people to actually have to think about strategy on drag attacks. Yes its true before that most all of the bases were simply spam 11 dragons (or 10 and 5 loons) and it always worked. Then the second change was the leaf blower plus another hit point buff. At that point attacking max th8s with dragons was pretty dang tough.

I'm guessing now the 2 light 1 EQ 1 rage method could bring alot of bases back to being dragon bases though.
