Should I leave a builder inactive for walls?

Well I'm town hall 8 (max th7 levels) and I have five builders so, after checking the time it takes for both lab upgrades and building upgrades, it's clear that with five builders the lab outweighs the building times. So it seems I might be left with idle builders anyway near the end of th8 while my lab upgrades finish.
I have my barracks, dark barracks and lab upgrading, and the dark spell factory and second dark barracks are building, so I'll have all the offensive upgrades. CC is already upgraded.

I have 175 level 7 walls and the rest are level 6 and 5. I farm a lot everyday, and right now I'm sitting on full storages, (still at 4 mil from th7). Since I'm so active, I'm wondering whether it'd be effective to leave a builder inactive so I can constantly pour my gold into walls (I will have enough for other defences, don't worry). Or should I prioritise the other upgrades? The sooner I max my walls, the stronger my base will look and be, and the happier I'll be about it

Edit: Just upgraded the level 5 walls so its now 175 level 7 and 49 level 6 (1 level 8)

New TH8s get 50 new walls.. so it makes sense some are still lower level.

All depends on situation, IMO I would get all of those walls up to level 7 before upgrading defenses etc, I did that and it helped so, so much. I farmed in bronze league/near sub 200 to try and maximize loot if you need it.

However, once you get Level 7 walls, I don't find it is that efficient to leave an extra builder open for walls unless you're trophy pushing. As a farmer TH8 I usually stay around 800 trophies and don't see a good reason to spend 500k on a wall to "empty my storages" instead of saving it up a bit more (maybe lose a bit in a defense) to upgrade a 2m gold air defense.

However, if you have all maxed defenses, nothing else to spend gold on but you're upgrading elixir/dark elixir stuff, it may be worth it.

I say yes, you should leave a builder for walls! You don't want to be sitting on top of a ton of resources. Plus it helps with the long "wall grind" that will/can happen at the end of your town hall journey once your defenses are maxed.

Who knows? Maybe he just got to TH8? Your walls don't immediately get upgraded to lvl7 once you get them.

Only way to be 100% sure is if you do occupy all five builders yet still farm like you did before. If there's a surplus sufficient for grinding walls then you have your answer.

I say yes. With 4 builders Im pretty sure your lab time will be more than your upgrade time at th8 so it makes sense. Plus its easier to save DE/Lix if you can dump gold at any time.

I'm in the same situation, as soon as my next builder is done completing his building he will remain idle until my walls are complete in order to balance build time and lab time. I figured the faster my walls are done (not necessarily prioritizing the walls, but only due to excess gold that will be farmed as I target DE) the faster I can get my builder back up and working to finishing the last few remaining buildings. Unless I'm for sure not going to be able to farm for a couple days, that's when I'll put him back to work for a few days.
