Is it worth upgrading the Lightning spell

I was also wondering if anyone was using the new level 7 lightning and if it was worth giving up spell slots for. I'm not going to give up 2 spell slots to take out one wizard tower lol.

The only reason for lightning spells is taking out air defenses when doing a dragon attack in cw. There is no need zapping mortarts or wizard towers and attacking with barch.

Here is what you need:
th7: 3 lightning lvl3 for ad up to lvl6

th8: 2 lightning lvl5 + quake lvl1: Ad up to lvl6 and add one additional rage

th9: 4 lightning lvl5 + quake lvl1 for 2 ads up to lvl6 covering each other so you can reach them with 1 quake, rest dragons + loons with a lavahound in the cc. Dont use hogs on a cc with 30 capacity because it may trigger the enemy hound which will screw up your attack with no rage spells.
2 lightning lvl5 and earthquake lvl3 will get down ads lvl7
2 lightning lvl6 and earhtquake lvl1 will get down any ads (use if 2 ads lvl7 are close to the border, xbows on ground or getting 2 stars on th10s

th10: 2 lightning lvl7 will destroy ads up to lvl7. Use this in combination with an additional rage spell, dragons lvl5 mixed with loons and a hound in the cc to clean up high th9s.

Of course not! It's a waste... It only does 570 damage at Lvl 7... Enough to destroy the ADs easily with 2-3 of them

Mine was lvl4 too because that was enough for beating th8s and at th9+ dragons made no sense, but now I will max then asap and get my dragons to 5 as well.

Never used lightning myself cause it has been seriously underpowered (same category as dragons), but started upgrade to lvl 7 today and will try it out in 2 weeks 😃

Will report back.

it does have some potential now, whereas it has been useless, or rather, far inferior to other spells, in the past.
